Cobra (Thames Ditton) Forum / 289 Cobra Reproduction on Hemmings
« on: August 01, 2017, 06:36:31 »
Very nice looking 289 Cobra built by David Wagner for sale on Hemmings, with chassis designation COX 6146.  Not sure how this is possible if AC Cars, I would believe, would only be able to grant the using of this chassis number?  No mention of this being an aluminum or fiberglass car.

1993 Lightweight on EBay in the U.S. In California, here in the Bay Area.  I was thinking about possibly acquiring and then selling my Mk. IV as this car has very low miles and is a Lightweight (supposedly).  The features on this car look to be almost standard Mk. IV vs. Lighweight spec, but perhaps it is because it is a U.S. version, but not sure. One photo shows an AKL chassis tag.  Looks almost to be a standard late production Mk. IV with flat dash and wider front radiator opening.

This has already run one time and bid up to $101,000.   It is now re-listed.  I saw this car on the Hemmings web site for sale.  I believe the "for sale" price is $176,000 USD. Here's the link to the current EBay auction. Any thoughts?

A very nice looking Mk IV is for sale on EBay at the McLaren dealer in Philidelphia (USA). Black over tan with 4,000 miles on it. Starting bid is $91,992 with a buy it now price of $114,990. Brought to my attention by another Mk. IV owner I know with a similar very low mileage Mk. IV. No affiliation.

Looks to be AK 2003.  Says the car was special built in 1995 for the Detroit auto show. Ad refers to this car as an "AC 427".  Looks to be basically a standard Mk. IV.  No real engine shots. Front end differs from most Mk IV cars with side inlets either side of the front opening and flat dash and "AC" logo on center hex nuts (vs. "Autokraft").

Car looks to be in nice shape, with claimed low mileage.

Does anyone have more details on this car?

Price is $235,700 which seems very high, but all the more power to him if he gets it as that bodes well for all Mk  IV cars.

A couple of days left on this EBay auction. AK 1158, 1986 production. $65,000 at this posting. At this point, a lot less than the Mk. IV just sold at Auctions America at $99,000.
