Could someone point in the direction of the current MK IV registrar? I have access to an early MK IV and need to confirm the provenance.

Thanks!

Ace 'Brooklands' Forum / First post
« on: October 16, 2007, 22:37:08 »
I'm sorry I don't have a Brooklands Ace, although I drove several including the Lotus powered car during business trips to AC in 1999.
I just wanted to be a post whore and start up this section!

I would dearly love an Ace, Hi-Tech who built the body/chassis for the last version had a unit incomplete in South Africa but Jimmy scrapped it before I found out. I was supposed to get the LHD car that was painted a light blue and was shown at the National Motor Show in 1999 but our distributors deal with Ac fell apart (a whole 'nuther story) Still a very nice car that deserved to have the development completed rather than being tossed aside.

General Forum / Ace "Brooklands" under construction May 1999
« on: November 25, 2006, 21:36:16 »
Here are photos of the LHD 4.6 powerd Ace that was to be our demonstrator and Detroit International Auto Show display unit. This car was repainted later in a "Diamond Ice Blue" color for a promotion with DeBeers Diamonds that never happened. It was shown at the Birmingham show however.

First a piture of how the painted body/chassis units arrived from Hi-Tech in Port Elizabeth, South Africa..they were racked two high, this one has been split off and is ready for the "factory."

And more of the blue car under construction...

You would absolutly crap if you knew how little AC paid for the body/chassis units.....chump change compared to what they tried to sell the cars for![:0]

More to come in the near future....

All,

here are some pitures I took at Weybridge in May 99 when they were prototyping the CRS. Note that the body is NOT one piece as advertised, it is split under the doors.

I have more but they will need top be scanned. I will get them done and posted.

As per a recent thread, I have these pictures of an original Mark IV radio blanking plate from a 1985 Mark IV. I have dimensions should anyone wish to reproduce one for themselves.

I think I have the name of the company who made the "autokraft" logo that was used here and on the boot.

Is there any photo hosting setup here? I have pictures of the prototype CRS being built at Weybridge (May 1999) that I could post.
