General Forum / Aceca for Sale
« on: July 29, 2013, 21:06:31 »
Reluctantly I am putting my Aceca for sale. It is AEX 674, AC engined. I find it difficult to drive 3 cars at the same time.

If anyone knows any interested parties, let me know. Contact me for asking price.

Does anyone have any knowledge of an intake manifold to mount DCOE 40's on an AC engine?

Soo, Chris Jacobs from overhauling on Velocity channel in the US is wearing an AC T-shirt. Interesting. Proper, original Logo. Very very big automotive show in the USA and always about muscle car and custom hot rods.

Product placement? It's widely known Chris is a Mopar guy...

General Forum / BRM Watch
« on: March 07, 2013, 23:51:17 »
In my efforts to get sponsorship for the USA international, I've had conversations with BRM Manufacture. They make a very high end line of watches with design inspiration from the Racing world.

I also had a conversation with Alan Lubinsky about getting approval to use the AC logo for this purpose.
Let me be clear, I have no written approval as of yet, but Mr. Lubinsky was not opposed. Further pursuing this is senseless, unless there is sufficient interest in moving forward with this project.

BRM can and will make a special edition AC watch, if we order enough of them to make it worth their efforts. They would also offer them at a significant reduction of retail price in that case.

These are, in my view, fabulous watches. Most certainly a piece to treasure for posterity. Certainly not cheap. But you get what you pay for.

Would there be interest from you died in the wool AC enthusiasts enough to warrant a special AC edition watch?

If there is, I will organize the affair and post updates on design/styles etc, so you can choose wisely.

For now, take a minute to look at their website:

I got this from a friend of mine, Jerry Entin. Unfortunately he did not get to drive his CanAm car at Road America last weekend. Car was not ready...

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / 2013 ACOC International in USA?
« on: July 20, 2012, 03:36:00 »
Good news: The price is coming down. Multiple points of origin available. Drop off in LA. A west coast trip will be possible for roughly $4000 round trip (2500 UK pounds). That is a $1000 savings over the first quote. I asked for clarification, and as it stands that will include everything. Show up, drop your car off. Fly to LA, pick it up and drive off onto Pacific Coast Highway to Monterrey. They will handle all customs work and releasing the cars. And, they handle classic cars all the time.

Check out their link on youtube.

I have done that drive twice, and I can tell you there is NOTHING like it.

As the info comes in, I'll keep you posted.

General Forum / 48 IDA Webers
« on: June 29, 2012, 18:46:58 »
I've been running 48 Ida's for 7 years on my car now. I can't seem to stop them from sweating/leaking. Stains all over my carbs and intake manifold. What do you guys do to prevent that? Or is this something I have to accept as a "normal" Weber thing?  Has anybody rebuilt them with a liquid gasket sealer?
