« on: December 20, 2016, 20:28:43 »
We are seeking an Empire or Royal for inclusion in the Simeone Museums AC Retrospective exhibit in February and March of 2017. The museum is located just minutes from the Philadelphia International Airport. Any interested parties can contact me through the club e-mail for further details.

« on: December 03, 2012, 22:19:09 »
Can anyone tell me were to find the chassis numbers on a Greyhound? Are they stamped on various parts like an Ace?
   Many thanks

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Ace Dashboard Questions
« on: November 24, 2012, 12:49:02 »
What was the original construction of the glovebox door on the Ace; was it an upholstered aluminum panel or was it based on a wood panel? Also, does anyone have a source for the correct two speed wiper switch and knob?
   Thanks

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Ace Body Finish
« on: March 05, 2012, 14:59:35 »
It's almost time to put the body back on 308. Does anyone know whether the factory applied any coatings to the inside of the alloy body skin or was it left bare?

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Wiper Parts
« on: November 10, 2011, 02:51:37 »
Does anyone know the correct part number for the wiper motor for an Ace? Did it vary by year? The spares list for Lucas parts lists a 75311 as being correct but the list is dated 1963. My car left the factory in June of '57 and I'm thinking a 75233 may be correct. If so, any help in locating one would be appreciated; what is fitted now is from the late 60's or early 70's. I suspect correct ones are now just slightly more valuable than gold.
In the same vein does anyone know a source for the chrome bezels for the wiper wheelboxes or what else they may have been fitted to?

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Body Seals

Does anyone know of a current source for the rubber seals that go on the edges of the inner fenders to seal between those panels and the body? My originals are pretty much dust at this point.

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Instruments for Ace Bristol
« on: November 23, 2009, 15:54:14 »
Does anyone have an ammeter for an Ace Bristol that they would be willing to part with or know a source for the same? I'm also looking for a speedometer as all I have of mine is a damaged case and a good face, something rebuildable would sure make life easier.

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Nose Profile
« on: May 03, 2009, 16:39:01 »
What is the consensus on what the proper contour of the leading edge of the nose around the grill should be on an Ace? BEX 308 came to me in 1970 with a fairly narrow and radiused leading edge, but the car had been rolled and the front sheet metal had been extensively repaired in the late 50's so that is not a reliable indicator of the original shape. The one picture I have of the car prior to the accident is not definitive in this regard so is no help. Vintage pictures of Aces seem to indicate a finer entry than later restored cars; at least here in the States where some restored cars show a very wide pronounced flat surround all the way around the grill opening. While it's reasonable to assume that there was some variation between cars due to being hand built, what I'm seeing today seems extreme. It's time to get to the sheet metal so I need to get to a landing.

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Rudds 3.5L V8 Ace
« on: October 28, 2008, 15:48:31 »
In Mclellan's book "Ace Bristol Racing" it is noted that Ken Rudd fitted an aluminum BOP V8 to an Ace at about the time Shelby got involved with AC and the Hurlocks terminated their arrangement with Rudd. Does anyone have any further information on this car? Chassis number, disposition, any other details?
