Dear All,

I need your help again.
I need to change the bearing from the link between the lower wishbone to the rear frame.
In a previous post, Wescott was mentionning the bearing to be a RBJ-210 ML he bought in UK but did not refer to a vendor.

I can find on the Web a RBJ-210 M  as well as a RBJ-210 L but not an "ML"
Does anyone know what the difference is between these 3 "M" ; "L" and "ML"  if any ?
Also does anyone know where to buy them from in UK or US ?

Many thanks again and as usual , for your help.
Very Best Regards
Laurent

Dear all,
A friend of mine who just bought an MKIV is looking for the retractable original systems  for the bumpers.
we have found the bumpers (Europaspares UK)  but they don't sell the retractable part that connects the car chassi to the bumper itself.
Does anyone have an idea where to buy them.
Many thanks in advance for your help

Dear All,

I need you help.
I have an MKIV (AK1317)

I have noticed an increase noise on the front left of the car especially when driving on poor quality road.
looking at it carefully, I have noticed that the suspension ball joint of the upper whisbone  left is dead (see picture) .  I want to change the 4 of them (2 left and 2 right). Does anyone know what is the part reference and where to fond them ?

Also I have noticed a sudden degradation of my right tyre (degradation on the outside of the tyre). again looking into it carefully, I noticed 2 things:
- some spare movement of the lower suspension ball joint (see picture)
- noisy wheel bearing when spinning the left wheel manually

Again, Could anyone help me with the bearing and ball joint references and where to find them.

Many Many Thanks in advance for you time and help
Best Regards

Dear all,
I have an MKIV 1989 (AK1317).
I just realised that there is a brake liquid leakage between the airvac and the master cylinder of my Brake mastervac.

There are quite few references on the system body : ABCDEGHJKLMN  8  and   74660862   as well as a reference that looks like Q1370?

I have attached some pictures of the system.
Does anyone know what brand and reference it is ?

I would think it is a Ford part but not absolutely certain and maybe an ATE model but I cannot find these references.

Many thanks in advance for you help.

Dear All,

I start to have significant noise on the right handside of my Left hand drive steering rack on my AC MKIV 1989 (AK1317).  Steering rack probably needs changing.
I  wonder if anyone could tell me what steering rack was mounted originally on MKIV in 1989 and where to find a new one for replacement.
Many thanks in advance for your help.
With my very best regards

Dear All,

I need to change the brake pads of my rear brakes on my AC Autokraft MKIV 1989. I have no idea what brand they are nor where to buy them from.
could anyone advise me on "what" and "where" to get them from.
In addition looking at my two rear brake systems I realised that actually there is a small part missing on one of them. It is the upper metal plate that seems actually to "seems" to keep the pads away from each other OR possibly avoid some vibration of the pads ? (see picture attached).

Again if anyone could tell me what this metal piece is for and advice where to get and buy it, I would very much appreciate.

Many thanks in advance for your help

Dear All,
I posted in the past my intention to switch from 16" to 15" wheels on my 1989 MKIV and got lot of advices  - many thanks again for that -
I have acquired the rims from Vintage wheel US. Back rims are 15" X 9.5"  with a backspace of 3,5"  i.e. very similar  - sometimes identical to what some of you had or confirmed fitted in their case.

In my case looking at the rim installed, it is clear that when the tyre will be fitted on the rim, the distance between the exhaust line and the tyre will be too small and I will have to have the exhaust line slightly modified.

Has anyone experienced that in the past ?
Has anyone modified the exhaust line to get more clearance between the line and the tyre ?  if yes could you share how you did it ?

Many thanks in advance for your thoughts and experiences.

And as it is the season coming, Very Merry XMas  for all of you  AC fans that will read my post.

Dear All,

I have an MKIV (AK1317)  and I spotted that a silent block is dying.
I have attached 2 pictures to illustrate which silent block it is;

let me try and explain: Under the rear end of the gearbox, there is a piece of metal that supports the gearbox. This piece of metal is clearly visible on the picture -silent block gearbox 1-  At each end of this metal bar, the bar is attached to the chassis through metal legs welded on the chassis and a system of nut/bold - see picture silent block gearbox 2- In order to avoid metal/metal contact and dampen vibrations, there is a silent block in between the metal bar and the welded legs;
It is this silent block that starts to break in pieces.  I have made a drawing of what I think the silent block looks like. possibly it is in 2 pieces i.e. cut in the middle on my drawing

I am actually looking for advice: does anyone know the reference of this silent block and also where to buy it ?

Many thanks in advance for your help.
Best regards

Hi All,
I am tempted to change my 16inch original rims on my AC Autokraft MKIV by Halibrand replica 15 inch ones made by VintagewheelsUS.
This is mainly because there is not a lot of 16inch tyres; I currently have Toyos that are magic on dry but tricky - to say the least - on heavy rain as we do have in the south of France ... when it rains.
My intention is thus to have a set of 15inch equiped with Avon tyres  - excellent on wet roads  and keep the 15 inch one with Toyos for dry conditions.

My question is : has anyone equiped his MKIV with Avon tyres on 15 inch rims ? if yes any advise on what size of Avon tyres to put on these new rims: front rim is 15 X 7.5 back space 2,5 in.   Back rim is 15 X 9,5 backspace 3,5 in.

Many thanks in advance for your advices.
Cheers

Dear All,
could anyone tell me what this electrical part is and ideally where to find one to buy. It did "smoke" a bit last time I started the engine so I am worried that it may fail or need changing.
There is no reference on it.
My car is an AC autokraft MKIV 1989
Many thanks in advance for your help.

Hello,
Happy New Year first to anyone who reads this post. Lots of  enjoyable AC-trips in 2018.
I started pretty well myself but a little leak has emerged.
I have some cooling liquid leakage just above  - in one of the cavity of- the water pump, vertical to the ignition distributor.
Does not seem to leak when I drive but happen when the engine has been stopped and left resting overnight.
I tried to attach a picture - if there is an attachment you will see the green liquid on the picture.

Has anyone seen that on his car before ?
Many thanks for your suggestion of what it can be due to and what to do to stop it happen.
Cheers

Dear All,
On my Autokraft AC MKIV I have a 302ci converted SVO. The current oil pan is a 5 quarts volume and I would like to increase the size of this oil pan to 7 or 8 quarts
Has  anyone done that before and if yes, what oil pan brand/reference did you install.
   Many thanks for your advice.
