Going to Switzerland for the Club trip and still haven't dealt with the awful positioning of the seat belt top guide which means I have to effectively wear a scarf to stop the belt chaffing my neck.
Has anybody fitted or had fitted a bar with harness mounts either on the bulkhead or across the (roll over?) hoops? Haven't driven it for years except to the MOT station or for annual service but the pain of the belt cutting my neck is still foremost in my dread list together with driving in the pouring rain along the motorways at 60mph hoping the roof doesn't fly off.

Thanks Phillip its about the price quoted by Longstones incl club discount.
   Temporarily fitting Khmos, have ordered safety wire and pliers.
   Now looking at 15in wheels and spinners, putting the cats and anti-roll bars back and thinking of a retro engine transplant. (or should that be a brain transplant!)Probably about a £10k investment, is the CRS worth it?
   Whats the general opinion?

Is that still with the Mustang injection and all your underfloor boxes or is it now a track car? I think I could easily put my MB CLS 350 diesel auto round any track just as quick if not quicker than the CRS whilst listening to the radio and sipping a Costa!  [:)]

Hi Graham,
   I've got the original dated 1997 Avon Z1 tyres, no wear (only 14,000 miles)
   but a bit hard and slippy now. Just priced up a set of Pirelli Pilots at £1300 + fitting/balancing etc at Longstone. Fronts about ok at £239 but rears a whopping £382! It would be good to know how they handle before making the commitment and would rather stay with original wheels.

Thanks for that - lovely car by the way, but the CRS comes on 16in wheels with 225/50/16 and 255/50/16 rears.

   We will probably go by tunnel in that case and start to plan our trip.

   We are thinking of adding a few more days touring in Alsace - is there any outline yet on which Channel crossing route will be used? Realise you are incredibly busy with arrangements but August is getting booked up fast....

And all of you forget to mention the even cheaper (and humbler) CRS, now with prices fallen slightly, cheaper than the top end fibreglass replicas. You talk of people returning their cars to original speck yet only a few days ago you were congratulating someone for putting "retro" wheels and spinners on a CRS, the wired wheelnut being one of the few ways of telling a genuine car at a glance.

Well there's a storm in a teacup! One point in the lesson definitely rings true though, buying a CRS at around or below replica money is a fantastic entre into AC motoring for those of us who frittered our money away on other things( mostly divorces I believe) during the seventies. Also I take great pleasure pointing out the weave in my bodywork to many of the true motoring enthusiasts who love to talk ACs or just cars at the many events I attend.[:)]

Talking of INSURANCE - have just spoken to my broker who cannot insure me to drive my own car in the US (although I have complete coverage in most of Europe), apparently this has to be done through a US insurance broker.
   Another potential major problem possibly requiring group coverage? Is there any news from the Morgan Club?

Unfortunately there is a problem with condensation in containers although most shippers will put in silica bags to keep the moisture down (works well in saloons of course).
   Otherwise can Silver City make it across the Atlantic? [:)]
