Title: MKIV steering rack
Post by: cobra06FR on August 01, 2020, 10:09:12
Dear All,

I start to have significant noise on the right handside of my Left hand drive steering rack on my AC MKIV 1989 (AK1317).  Steering rack probably needs changing.
I  wonder if anyone could tell me what steering rack was mounted originally on MKIV in 1989 and where to find a new one for replacement.
Many thanks in advance for your help.
With my very best regards
Laurent

Hello Laurent,

I think the steering rack is from a MG B but with some modification on the imput shaft. Maybe some expert can confirm this ?

Best regards,

Emmanuel

Many thanks to both of you Emmanuel and JMohara for your help. I thought it was an MGB - which you confirmed but I was not aware of the modifications.
Very usefull.
Many thanks again
