Am I correct in thinking that their were 2 variants of red used on the bodies? My car seems to have been re painted a very vibrant red over a more sedate "ruby red". Does anyone have the correct paint codes? I am leaning towards the darker red, that looks very similar a BL Damask red.
All help appreciated. Cheers Tim

Taken from the 1981 AC Cars Ltd colour swatches:
A.C.1 Guardsman Blue 4424 M
A.C.2 Dark Blue FG. 47
A.C.3 Mist Silver 6182 M
A.C.4 Ruby Red 6192 M
A.C.5 Canary Yellow FG. 38
A.C.6 Light Green 5302 M
A.C.7 Sunset Red FG. 40
A.C.8 Cherry Red FG. 39
A.C.9 Pure White FG. 46
A.C.10 Beige DJ. 96
A.C.11 Mushroom 6189 M
A.C.12 Vineyard Green E.J. 29
A.C.13 Live Oak 6188 M
A.C.14 Sand 6190 M
A.C.15 Princess Blue 6191 M
A.C.16 French Blue 8672
I believe that the ‘M’ stands for metallic.
Ruby Red is a dark metallic red similar in colour to BL Damask Red
Cherry Red is a flat red similar to Ferrari Rosso Corsa
Sunset Red is also a flat red colour, quite orange in appearance.

Guys
Many thanks for the update, at least I now have a colour to aim for......I think it must be the Ruby Red metallic. So I think I will use the BL Damask as a starting point for the mix! Cheers Tim
