Title: Exhaust Queries
Post by: Superarnie Mk2 on June 11, 2017, 13:53:25
Dear all, I have recently started my car up for the first time. I have noticed that the rear wheel arches and the actual body of the car's arches do get quite hot. I have heat reflectant matting lining the wheel arches but the body is still quite hot. Is this unusual? Another query is that the section of exhaust piping which extends under the rear fibreglass boot, is very close to it. My fear is that it could melt. Do any of you have reflectant matting along this section  and also what distance is the top of your pipe from the tub. And following on from that how far is the top of the exit pipe from the car body, near the rear bumper  because my body gets hot there as well. Many thanks. Gary
