Hello,
The topic of supply sources for rubber sealings has been addressed in various Topics in the Forum. I am hoping that there are some new findings since the last postings:
One of the final peaces missing to completing the restauration of my CF48 is the rear window sealing. The earlier suggestion of a Fiat Dino Coupe did not provide the solution.
Any guidance where to source a suitable rubber sealing?

The restoration on my car is a slow process .
I will have problems with the rubber and seals by finishing the project .
i hope to find spare parts in the Essen motor show

The door rubber for the 428 is a complicated moulding that as far as I can see does not appear on any existing catalogues.
The guys at ThunderRoad recently asked Baines for a quote and it can be done but for for following issues;
Tooling is £500
Minimum order is 1000 metres
Cost per metre £6.99
So based on the probable number of existing cars we're looking at approx £150 per car if everyone orders! Any takers?

Clifford - Did you check Maserati or Alfa rubber profiles against an original door seal? I found window channel felt, guides and the seal for mounting vent window glass to the frame at a Maserati parts organization.
http://www.maseratinet.com/ is one. The parts are organised by model, so look for models
that were produced in the 1960's. Ghibli is a good bet, and Mistral.
I used an Alfa parts company in Texas, who ordered the rubber from their supplier.
The actual rubber is manufactured in Italy by a specialist outfit. Once you know what you're looking for, it can be ordered. It can take a while, but this mystery manufacturer seems able to supply almost anything. Perhaps they were the original manufacturer, or have the tooling. Don't know....
Parts used by Frua for 428's were sourced mainly from Alfa and Maserati, or so it seems. I'm inclined to think that Mr Frua rummaged through existing parts to paste together the extremely low-volume 428, rather than design and manufacture discrete parts. I'd love to know where the windcreen, windscreen gasket and chrome finisher came from. It might be specific to the 428, but I'm inclined to think it's not.
As an example, Emmanuel bought a window lift for his car on Ebay. It was from a Maserati, and identical to the non-functioning one on his car.

If anyone has removed a fastback rear window, the cross-section and dimensions of the gasket would make identification of a replacement much easier. Absent this information, finding a replacement is just guesswork.

Good news for all who need rubber replacements: I can report back that I got the rear window sealing as well as sealings for the vent windows and they all fitted well, i.e. I will get my car back on the road shortly.
If anyone has a suggestion where to find a driver door (right hand) main window to replace my chipped one (top corner), this would help to make it look even better.

When you corresponded with "them" (cicognaniguarnizioni.it?), did you ask for a rear window, and vent window seal for a Frua fastback? Did they even know what a 428 Frua is?
I would love to know if the glass was sourced from another car - it would make finding replacements much easier.
The club does have a small supply of glass for the 428's. Maybe they would have the glass you're looking for. OR, if we could discover the original source of the glass bits, make it easier for everyone. Monteverdi? Alfa Romeo? Maserati? Ferrari?
I personally doubt Glass was made-to-order for the 428's. We know the car's components were sourced from existing parts, so it stands to reason the various glass bits (and the rubber seals) were as well.

The now the AC 428 frua .
The looks perfect but the are not fit yet .

Cicognani asked me to sent the orginal rubbers since they did not know the specification of a frua in their records.
Re/glass replacement it seems that I have to start another search - the club did not have a suitable spare glass in stock last year.

Thanks for your effort, Seigfried. Unfortunately, the invoice is not clear enough to see any of the information it contains.
I will be interested to hear if the rubber profile (whatever that is) works when you re-install your glass.
