Title: CLB engine thermostat
Post by: 59 Aceca on September 06, 2012, 00:25:16
Hello all,

Can someone please advise the correct thermostat for a CLB engine?  Manufacturer and part number and/or specification would be great.

As always, thanks in advance for the help.

Greg,

Some time ago (/97) I withdrew my CLB thermostat (AEX 1194) to check operating temps (they were opening at 160 F, fully opened at 172F) and noted the inscription on the top face as being "Smiths 3065/8-78C-172F".

More importantly for you though, I was advised by AC Spares at the time that should the thermostat need to be replaced, "fit aluminium washer to indentation in housing top face and size accordingly for a Ford bellows type replacement".

Hopefully this may of be some help, but I am sure the Forum will produce much more expert advice.
