BEX1210 Sells at Gooding
« on: March 13, 2010, 03:45:11 »
I'm here at Amelia Island, and BEX 1210, an original-condition Ace Bristol, just sold for a hammer price of $255K US, plus 10% commission, for a total of $280,500 ! I do believe that could be a record for an Ace Bristol, sold publicly (and therefore verifiable) at least. And on top of that, the seller was overheard to say he thought it should have brought more!

I am surprised BEX 1210 was sold again after hardly 2 years being with the original owner for 45 years.
For a very original car including lots of documentation it's my opinion the price of around $ 280 K is not unreasonable when you compare it to what well restored Ace Bristols bring.
BEX 1210 as well as BEX 1212 (both very original) were ex works on the day I was born. I reckon myself also to be quite original but not in the same fine shape as these two gems!
Let's hope the new owner enjoys it for a much longer time and he will participate on this forum.
