Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Ace battery box
« on: November 12, 2023, 16:57:44 »
Hi-
Can anyone help me with a photo or description of what an Ace battery box should look like? Here are a couple of photos of what came out of BEX1122. I'm pretty sure the slab of wood and the bits of hardware store aluminum angle are not correct ;) And I know the outer end of the forward bracket needs fixing. Seems like some of the rest might be right or nearly so. Should those 1/2" tubes have those sections cut out of them? And should the 5/16 BSF nuts welded to the brackets all have their threads drilled out?
Thanks!

Hello.
Some of you might be interested to see BEX1122, which has been dormant for quite some time. This car belonged to my late uncle since 1969. I am honored to now be responsible for its care and rehabilitation. I'm in Pennsyvania, USA and will be seeking expertise in aluminum bodywork, paint and also a machine shop familiar with the Bristol engine, preferably in the northeastern US. I'm open to any and all advice and recommendations. I have much to learn, decide and do, but here is where the long road begins. Words of encouragement (and/or caution) appreciated.

Vintage, PVT & 2 Litre Forum / ACs in the USA?
« on: November 11, 2019, 19:45:09 »
Hello-

I am new to the forum and have recently joined the ACOC as well. My late uncle owned two ACs - a '37 4-seater sports tourer and an Ace Bristol. I'm interested in making contact with some AC-minded folks in the USA. First and foremost, I hope to get the pre-war car, which is completely disassembled, into the hands of someone who might want to restore it or perhaps just put the pieces to good use in other ACs. Secondarily, it looks like the Ace Bristol will eventually be coming to live with me (!) and in that case I will be needing plenty of help in getting it back on the road again.

Any comments, suggestions or recommendations are most welcomed and appreciated, either here or via private message. Thank you.

-Tom
