Title: Do I need to declare my Vehicles as VHI ?
Post by: Exowner on June 06, 2018, 19:47:06
Just seen off the June issue of ACtion, a good read. I read the 'Federation News' pages and I'm still confused (nothing new there)!
My question, for anyone who is completely up to speed with the current situation, is this. Do my old things need to be declared as VHI?
I have the following-
1955 AC Aceca
1935 Frazer Nash
1924 AJS Big Port (motorcycle)
At present none of the above are liable for road tax fees or need an MOT (even thought the on line tax renewal states that an MOT is required for each!!)
The bit about declaring at the next re-licensing seems to be written as if we all are fully aware of the situation.
I don't want to wait till the next re-taxing to find out that I have to do something.
Any clarity greatly welcomed.

I can't add anything to the FBHVC digest other than to note the tax renewal for my PVT has just come through showing Tax class: Historic and Tax due: Nil.

Vehicles that are already MOT exempt: no action required.

Vehicles that would, after 20th May,  fall in to the age bracket now set have two options:

Do nothing and continue to require an MOT

Declare VHI, if it meets the criteria,
              at the point or retaxing
Or by filling in the V 112 form .

Bryan, Nev and BE774, Many thanks for the clarity. I didn't think there was an issue with my things, but these replies have now made things Clear - no action needed.

Sorry about the impersonal 'BE774', but other than putting 'G', what can I do if names are withheld???? (oops, close to ranting, there!)
