As stated by Barrie Bird, The AC Owners Club is a Car Club run by AC enthusiasts on a voluntary basis, Each model is represented by their respective Owner / Custodian.   The content of ACtion, The Forum and Calander are created by it's Members for other members, The Ace & Cobra fraternity voice their pride and passion for the AC marque and respective model, unfortunately the same is not reciprocated by all.
Terry would really appreciate new material for future issues of ACtion, Technical queries are usually answered promptly via the Forum.  The two go Hand in Hand. and are the main source of communication Worl Wide.
With regards celebrations of various Models and Events  e.g National day, Internationals, and Le Mans Classic, We the ACOC require volunteers to step forward with suggestions and offers of support to run such events.

Any Car Club is only as Good and Representative of it's members as their members contribution, without the hard core in any Club...   ..     The Club would Fold.
PLEASE READ next issue and previous issues of ACtion,  There are positions vacant requesting new Blood to take on / over various tasks in order to maintain the Future of The AC Owners Club, Which is one of the Best, if not the Best Car Club for Camaraderie and Technical Support, irrespective of which model of AC they own.
If you want something Done ..  ..   One has to ask those who are always Busy and Productive, or Volunteer and do it yourself.

Steering Box Steady Control Arm
A very in depth interesting  analysis,  You are definitely right , change one thing at a time.
You mention in your last paragraph  " Steering Box Steady Control  Arm " ..........These are available from:
Classic Autos Ltd
10, High Street.
Kings Langley.
Hertfordshire.
WD4 8HB
England
Tel: 01923 262994
Aubrey or Nik Finsburgh

PLEASE NOTE:  They are handed,  You must state Left Hand Drive  or Right Hand Drive. ;)

I supplied Classic Autos with a full size drawing after I ordered mine, as I was  incorrectly supplied a RHD unit
for my LHD BEX333.
I bought and fitted mine to BEX333 some 20 years ago, it definitely Supports  the steering box.   :)
Hope you solve your Steering Box problem.

ACOC International 2022
Have to agree,  Ursula, Juergen and Constant organised a great event that was put back from 2020 to 2021  .. then third time lucky 2022.
36  x club members from 5 countries  in AC's ranging from Rigobert & Christine's AC 16/70 , 5 x  AC Ace  & Ace Bristol's ,
i  x Aceca. Heiner Schafer's 1964 Cobra along with Arwed Otto's  1964 Cobra.  5 x Mk1V cobras  ( 3 x Lwt ,1 superblower &
1 x CRS) 2 x Greyhounds, Due to unforseen difficulties Adrians Frua 428 became a Porsche whilst Mike and Brian Booth came in their Bristol Blenhiem.

Dear old BEX333 clocked up total mileage of 1838 miles..  ..   Home to International and back to North Devon, a few new jobs were put on the to do list, The joys of owning and maintaining a  65 year old Ace Bristol.

The Nurburgring Old Timers Meeting was a great success, Unfortunately the  ACOC Laps of the main Circuit planned for 2020 & 2021 couldn't be transferred to 2022.

Ursula, Juergen , & Constant were presented with ACOC personalised engraved  wine glasses  at Saturday evenings dinner, Great to see Bertie on the first couple of days with his Ace Bristol, before shooting off to Nurburgring to carry out  scrutineering duties on  various cars, then to drive back to Bonn for dinner only to drive back to the Nurburgring....... Now wonder that Ace Bristol has clocked up over 300,000 miles in Bertie's ownership (1965 to date), Like a good worn pair of slippers

Write up and photos required by Terry for next issue of ACtion and may be Bryan can add a selection of pictures to the Club Forum.

In Good Old AC Fashion . ;)
Ursula, Juergen and Constant .. BLOODY WELL DONE  !   .  :)

Welcome to the AC Owners Club
BEX148 would make a great stable companion to  your BEX312,  Like all Classic Sports ,  They are there to be used  and enjoyed to the full, Then passed on to new Custodians to be loved. used and enjoyed again and again.
If you do buy  BEX148 , Please post a picture of  the two together.
In the meantime enjoy BEX312.

Cheers

Willhelm.

BEX148 was  exported to Venezuela in 1956 and raced by O Lupi.....    It returned to the UK (2011/2012 ) and was  fully rebuilt to same body specification as  raced  during  1950s /60s .
Pendine should have full history,  Which can be substantiated by  Tim Isles who imported it  and carried out a 100 point restoration in readiness for its debut at GoodWood Revival 2013. :)  Driven by Nigel Winchester
Photos and some details in various issues of ACtion.

David Di Francisco emailed earlier this week and confirmed His   AC Ace Bristol BEX208 was sold to Daniel Rapley and is  up
for Sale at Rapley Classic Cars in Bethel CT and at Gullwing.
David  had asked Daniel to put a  copy of Action and  ACOC Ace Bristol Registrar details (Tim Isles )  in the glove box  in order that the new Custodian has Club details  and BEX208 remains on the radar and the Register is kept up to date. ;).

Hope to meet up on the ACOC International  in August. ( Any Chance of coming in BEX316 ?
Most Club members in the UK, yet to see BEX316 " the Pumpkin "  ;)

Peter.

David Di Francisco's  Ace Bristol BEX208 is also up  for sale with  (Daniel Ripley)  at Ripley Classic Cars in Bethel C T.
as well as Gullwing.
ACtion magazine and ACOC Ace Bristol Register details with Ace , Hopefully the next Custodian Joins the ACOC and BEX208 remains on the radar and eventually the Bristol engine and Gearbox gets reinstalled to replace the presently  6 cylinder Ford fitted with triple Weber carbs.  ;)

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Re: Jacking points
« on: May 16, 2022, 22:21:46 »
Vincent

I always carry a light weight  Aluminium roller  trolley jack in BEX333, (Ace Bristol) and as James and Robin State. Lift front on main cross member ( using a small block of wood to save damage to paint finish on chassis cross member.)
As my ali trolley jack has front  roller it easily slides under a Ace /Aceca and Cobra,   I can comfortably raise the rear by clearing the fuel Tank ( mine is Ali) small block of wood with pre drilled hole  allows one to lift via the diff with the drain plug recessed into pre drilled hole.
Have used this method at home and on the road over the past 20 plus years... Would never use a bottle jack.
Speed and Safety First... Especially if on Motor way or in precarious  location.    :)

Out riggers are not suitable to use as jacking points.   ;)

Peter.
Thank you for posting link to BEX1164.
I have a few pictures of BEX1164 back in 2013 when it was displayed as a bare body suspended from ceiling, with all components displayed on  a work surface in readiness for reassembly.  Many parts being new (NOS)  or very good condition.
A great Project...Hopefully the new Custodian joins the ACOC , secures a Bristol 100D2 engine and gearbox, completes a easy restoration and has BEX1164 up and running and back on the road & Track .. :)

Thank you for confirming that  the correct Chassis Number is CSX3063.
The other Chassis Numbers in this thread are Typos,  Definitely out of character for you not  to have corrected typos prior to posting.

Thank you for your prompt positive response and clearing up my confusion . :)

1965 AC Cobra Ghia..
What a Great Looking Styling exercise

With Ace Bristol's ..  ..   IT Is what  IT IS  e.g. ..  ..    my 1957  Ace Bristol    BEX333 is BEX333.

But with AC  Cobras , Whether..  .,  Genuine , Copies,  Fakes  and  Continuations it gets so confusing ...  :'(
Is this One off ? Great looking  1965  Ghia Cobra .. ..    CSX6036 or CSX6063 or CSX3063   :-\
Seriously,  And I Mean Seriously ,  Can you please confirm which is the  correct Chassis Number ?
Thanking you in anticipation .
A  somewhat Confused   AC  Owner -  Enthusiast   ;)

Cobra (Thames Ditton) Forum / Re: LUCAS 073152 (DR3) WIPER MOTOR
« on: March 13, 2022, 18:06:52 »

Wirewheels 57

Very easy to remove wiper motor from on top of footbox,  and disconnect from mechanical wiper mechanism.
The motor and drive comes apart simply.
The three cotton real type motor  support s are available from Holden along with wiper drive boxes etc.
Not sure  of availability of spare parts to rebuild the actual DR3 internals.
When I rebuilt my DR3 unit I bought a couple of old DR1/DR3 units, Caution internals for parking  and drive vary pending from which vehicle  a 2nd hand unit was initially  fitted .
I have a few notes regards wiring and  different DR3  drive  units, Please confirm your email address and I will try to find my old notes, I have a good idea which box I stored the notes , just got to dig through a lot of sealed boxes since moving home last year.  ::)
Where are you located and can you please confirm Chassis number of Your Ace/Aceca . ?
