I had to have a new one in my 1989 MkIV (with 302) and it was put in by Steve Gray at Brooklands though don't know where it came from.

My Greyhound has overdrive and feels the same. I just dip the clutch before engaging/disengaging and that seems to do the trick

Try Neil Fisher at Redline, he had a lot to do with the Brooklands Ace

Ace 'Brooklands' Forum / Reference Ace Brooklands Side window glass
« on: February 16, 2009, 10:03:19 »
John, when I replaced the glass in your car it was the last piece from the factory and the glass was very slow and sluggish in closing. I guess it must have been a 5mm glass. The car is the last in the Register though and may have originally have 5mm glass but the replacement was much slower than the original.

Probably Rodney Thomas in X2 RJT, he's the CRS Registrar. I only know of one other yellow CRS and that has silver stripes but don't know whose car it is.

I spoke to Clive Bowyer and he remembers this car well. In fact, if you do obtain it he would very much like the liner removal tool he lent the owner returned!

You should worry! Mine also perished at around the same mileage and around 14 years old. At the factory it was fitted overlength so was just folded so it would fit instead of being cut to a sensible length. Hence it perished at the fold and ejected a great deal of petrol. A bit scary though. Mine is now aeroquipped!

I use a Mac only and cannot use Safari but Firefox works all the time for me. You can always try the old standby, restart(!!) but Firefox works even with Safari open at the same time

Ace 'Brooklands' Forum / Brooklands Ace Windtunnel model
« on: July 21, 2016, 19:13:16 »
I have been asked to see if someone in the ACOC would like to buy the original windtunnel model of the Brooklands Ace and the seller is keen for it to go to a club member.   It'll be a bit like eBay for the price, though an advert will also go in ACtion if not sold via the forum.

Admin note: We usually discourage selling through the Forum as ACtion and the small ads are the preferred route but these photos are too good to not post!
