im not an expert like previous posters but , you don’t say what the purpose of knowing the colour is, and as Barrie points out not straightforward, and Dan re what’s original.

If you have a  csx2000  series car there will be some where the “original” paintwork  hidden away and/ or the paperwork ( factory / import) trail would detail the first colour applied over the alloy bodywork.
I would find that and match it.

If it’s because you like the colour and it’s for a different application I would take Barrie’s approach.

Vincent,
That’s good news and on the main body .I hope you put the AC engine/ box and overdrive in instead of a v8 project as suggested by the original seller.
The pin punch of 531  seems  similar to the punching/ changing  of 526 to 527 on the door so probabaly something done during assembly of several cars but I was not even born in 1955 so not qualified  to say.

Given Aceca doors are a pain to fit, if  there  were a number of cars in assembly at the same time could a door not have been swapped even with stamped numbers to get a better fit?

I posted the picture of Ae526 bearing its number SOC1 when it was pulled from the garage where it sat with the greyhound and ace when discovered.

The second mystery is how AE526 lost this number SOC1 when the car had no mot ( even mot exempt cars must get an mot to transfer the number) so the plate not Legally transferable , and is just finishing a nut and bolt rebuild. I assume SOC1 is not going back on  AE526 as it’s on a Ferrari at present. How can that happen? Is it right?

Have a look in the Ace register (Ac engined). Looks like it was taken from a Ace that had a 289 put in.
As a member you can access the registers.

I think its not clear its 526--the 6 is crossed out with an x in your photo  and pin punched 7-you would have to pull a lot more evidence from round the car that its 526. Its also LHD  so would be AEX not AE.
There is also blue paint under the red in the roof area which may be original and 526 was green.
Not trying to be problematic but if 526 is (According to others) in the UK ,RHD and undergoing restoration , what do you have?
Will be an interesting story no doubt.

Could it be BE576 as that had a V8 and the grille in the picture on Eby has the slot for Bristiol start handle, and this car ended up in the states?

Does AE527 still exist- could it be this car?
Why would the door plate be stamped with the 6 changed to the 7. To early to be a Bristol aceca though if number is lower than 571.

Looking at the eBay advert something’s odd. The Aceca AE526 carried reg SOC1 and was found along with a ace and greyhound in a Tripple garage. ( thread on this  site somewhere)
It was blue as I recall , but was low miles and barn find state.

Unless this is the result of a brutal restructuring / attempted restoration of same car (exported/  Lhd conversion/ v8 ready).
The AE526 registration SOC1 is now on a different car.

Also looking at door stamping on eBay photo the 6 is marked out and a 7 pin punched in? Also dash is lhd which 526 was not.
So not sure what actual this car is?

I thought you were going thru an original AC rad but obviously not.

Its a problem is when aftermarket pulleys and pumps are fitted to the V8 engines and radiators may not be the original setup.

A 50/50 mix of regular anitfreeze with a 15psi pressure cap still gives you 131degc boiling protection (not 180degc like 4 life).

At the end of the day the fluid simply carries the heat (Yes it has to absorb it and wetting & heat capacity important here ) for heat exchange at  the radiator via a water pump.

One interesting thing is if you have a Triumph water pump and different pulley system then the pump revolutions and flow rate could be different(Due to potentially different diameters of WP pulley and drive pulley so could be higher or lower than the AC set up and the flow-rate different (If RPM of pump more or less, and the pump flow-rate/rpm are different. )

So its back to the original question of whether you are having cooling issues or just fancy trying something new--it does look to have good features , one for me is lasting 10yrs.

I looked at the Evans water less coolant and decided it was not worth it.

Most of these products claim to cure what are in my opinion underlying issues ( such as overheating).

I recall you have a triumph engine now so is that all steel- they advise against grease/ gland water pump use and in unpressurised systems? Is there an issue you want to solve by using this product?

AC alloy engine users would have to check it provides suitable alloy protection. I like it’s ph sensor in fluid to detect head gasket failure.

It’s expensive relative to regular A/F but can likely be drained and reused if a problem occurs. Higher boiling point of 180 degrees could be useful but they don’t give enough technical info to compare with a regular antifreeze mix or state at what pressure this boiling point is at ( 5psi ,10psi).

I appreciate you sharing this and the vinyl paint in other thread as it’s good to be aware of new products( did Toyota /shell not do a 4 life af?)

Thanks for sharing that. Was a lucky escape with no bodily or panel injuries!

Did the incident happen in motion or in the garage when trying to get the nut off. It looks like there is a heat issue on the taper ( black marks) .
Interested from a safety point -this link had a lower front ball joint that broke a few years back.
