Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Re: Carburettors for early Aces

Dear Barrie and Robin,

Thanks for your replies. I’ve been away for a couple of days so sorry for my late reply. Much appreciate your input. I did have my carburettors restores by Burlen,
I did ask them to keep the original bodies which might have been the wrong call...

I believe the carburettors for sale are a later version, AUC 700 and not the PDC 3229Q bodies that the earliest cars seams to have come with. I believe that AUC 700 bodies came at least as soon as early on in 1955.

Thank you gentlemen.

Regards Jonas

Barrie,

Thank you for the information. It would seem that the carburettors 31 has got are the original ones then. The caps on my engine are brass though, hexagonal with a very small hole...

Part of the reason for my question is that two of the carburettors I’ve got are rather worn, the butterflies don’t close as well as the should. Maybe not that strange since my car has done more than 75000 km. Consequently I’m looking for new ones.

So if anybody out there have one, or two carburettors that they could consider parting with please let med know. It’s enough with the carburettors body with the PDC 3229 Q casting number.

My email is jonas (at) jonaslindvall.com

Barrie, I’ve seen the progress on Instagram that’s been made with 22. I have to say it looks spectacular. Congratulations on that.

Dear all,

With some time on my hands I started looking into the carburettors on my car AEX 31. The ones that are fitted in my car are SU H2 with the carburettor body bearing the number PDC 3229q.

This is a early type of H2 carburettor that hasn’t got any damper in the dashpot.

I guess that these are the original type for my car but since I’m not a 100% sure I started wondering what type that are fitted to other early cars. Anybody out there that can tell me what type their cars have fitted? If you do reply, please also give the chassis number of your car please.

Grateful for any response on the subject.

Kind regards Jonas

I guess I’ll find out sooner or later!

Regardless I appreciate the info and that you took time to post.

Dear all,

I’m on a search for an original Speedometer Cable for a Post war 2 litre car.

I’m looking for the original steel armoured type which I believe had brass
fixtures at the ends.

If anybody has one for sale or would know about anybody that might have
one for sale I would be most grateful to know.

I can be reached on jonas (at) jonaslindvall dot com

Or +46709266070

Many thanks in advance for any help.

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Re: Ace / Moss box gear lever

Norman,

Thanks for the kind suggestion. Funnily enough I have a gearbox at Billy’s
at the moment but unfortunately they haven’t got any gear lever for an Ace.

I have found a 2 litre lever, so I’ll try to change that into an Ace one.

Thanks. Jonas

Good evening,

I’m not into Bristol’s myself but I asked a colleague that is and he had this info:

FRENCH GREY and has the code TVT M495. I don’t know if this can be of any help?

Chris,

Sorry can't find anything under the "small ads" headline. Maybe I could kindly ask you to have a look
in your spares compartment!? :)

All's fine in Sweden at the moment, just a little cold at the moment!

I hope you are also doing well.

I've enclosed two image from earlier this year.

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Re: Smith's Air filter decals
« on: November 20, 2018, 09:29:26 »
Dear All,

There seems to be some problems with the private messages over the forum.

Should anybody be interested in purchasing some Air filter decals please email me at:

jonas (at) jonaslindvall.com

I sell 4 for £25 including postage within Europe.

If anybody finds that acceptable please send me your address and I’ll send them off as soon as possible.
Money can be transferred to my PayPal account which is my email address.

As a note, I sell them in packs of 4 since it’s good to have a spare since they can be tricky to apply.
I would also advice to use some water decal solvent that makes them easier to apply and that stick
better to a painted surface. Microscale, Micro Sol & Micro Set are such products that can be bought
on eBay.

Kind regards

Jonas
