Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Radiator Grill
« on: December 02, 2017, 15:39:53 »
Hello,
Personally I dont think that a 58 car had the chrome grill because I have owned a 58 Ace which had an original alloy grill.
What I do have spare is an original chrome/brass taken from the first Aceca wpl 740  ae 501 which is undamaged good condition, will not need a rechrome ,can be unscrewed for a good clean  and has hung on my garage wall from when I purchased the car in 1984.
I also have a spare good but slightly damaged alloy grill which will need the round tubes replacing, taken from my 1959 Aceca 10 KPH
If any interest then contact me Tony North Cheshire

Hi,
Just browsing and recognised your chassis number.I owned the car from 1984 for a few years and won club concourse  and cometed at goodwood and ragley hillclimb .The cars first owner was Ken Rudds and had a 2 seater bench seat for a child sat overthe geartunnel.I still have photos of the car when i purchased it in maroon colour with bright red trim.I remember stripping all the paint and repairing the RH gutter trim and top of the c post which had ben damaged. The original colour was possibly black, or that was a guide coat, then a metalic silver green, then I think blue and maroon.I painted the cor jaguar carmen red.I registration was wpl 740 and I have a photo of it alongside my friends car vpl 441 the motor show prototype.

Thanks for the extra info.
The 55-56 cars use 72629A and A Healey 100/4 Uses 72629D. Could these be the same items?
My car is 1959,. What is the difference in the skuttle are between say a 56 and 57 car, either Ace or Aceca, presumably the early flat screen
     Thanks

« on: August 23, 2012, 00:28:09 »
I am looking for an interior flap-vent fitted to the side of the footwells.  Does anyone know of their original source or have they been reproduced. Perhaps someone has a spare on their shelf ?

My rebuild of BE745 requires help in finding a pair of wiper wheelboxes.I have tried MG items but the back is too high and fouls the 3/4"steel tube.
Steve Hunt has given me the Lucas part number 72639. It was also fitted to the Ace and Armstrong Siddley.

Someone will know of an alternative.
Any history of 10 KPH will be appreciated.
Previous owner Timothy Brooks, Whitby listed in register 2000
                     PG Wright listed 1985
     Regards
