Title: Thank You - Keiths 60th-
Post by: AC Ace Bristol on November 16, 2010, 17:06:03
Just a quick message to Thank the Fifty or so ACOC members for comming to my 60th Birthday Bash at The Barley Mow, in West Horsley, Surrey on Sunday 14th November.

The weekend Just got Better and Better as time went on,Saturday Night's Dinner with Close Family was a surprise, followed on Sunday with Great Company,Food and Drinks, then presented with a solid silver inscribed (with my name and the AC emblem) Fountain Pen, ten bottles of wine and two bottles of Champagne.
Then topped with Julie presenting me with a Birthday Cake in the shape of my Ace Bristol BEX333. Seemed such a shame to cut it up,  But share it I must ..........[:p]

Thank you all for making it a very Special Day. [:)]

Hopefully someone can post a picture or two of the day, not forgetting the BEX Birthday Cake. to complement this thank you [;)]

Apparently the tyres look flat due to the weight of the driver!!! I always wondered what really happened to the Black Stig!!

There`s certainly a space where the cake was!!!
Should it also have been a 10th anniversary cake for the BEX/Lessiter partnership?
I like the idea of an AC Heritage Soft confections department!!!

Nik

Too much happening over the past few weeks,  Didn't realise I
had owned BEX333 for ten years.

The Rumour that Steve Gray and AC Heritage had been cooking the books was a Ruse ....to hide the fact that they were
secretly preparing the Paint Oven to Cook the Black ACE Cake.

Having repaired both the front and rear of BEX333 over the years,
AC Heritage (Brooklands Motor Company) were the obvious Chefs  for this special one off project.[^]

However having made this one off (limited edition) they have
decided to revert back to the material and scales they are well known for .....  Being Aluminium and 12 inches to the foot.

Vote of thanks to The Chef [:p] ... Julie and to AC Heritage for keeping BEX333 in shape over the past ten years.

   Cheers for Now

   Keith [:)]

Keith,

Nice cake, sorry I could not come over. Is this the first Ace that has lowered suspension that hits the ground.

AC special development team created special ground effect for the Ace back in 1957, the car would sit low until ignition was
swithed on,then it would rise to the occassion and settle at ride hieght.
   (Copied by Citroen years later)
To be followed years later by many Formula 1 teams. Once again like
the Ace & Cobra, Good Idea well ahead of it's time .. ..
Slammed to the ground meant the exhaust was run through the Chassis Tubes. A trick learnt from Morgan's decades earlier.

apparently Keith attempted to emulate this by  running the exhausts through the body. the modification was not simple and involved a very precise manner of debarking the ferry...

Good play on words  ...  Debarking/Disembarking and Disembowel

Disembark: Upon leaving the ferry in Liverpool on return from Competing in the Manx Classic 2007.. The ferry ramps attacked and
Disemboweled BEX333(moved exhaust system rearward by 200 mm or so)

Debarking... Silenceing ones AC to say comply with Race requirements of Maximum 105 Decibles.

Debarking would have been a few Thousand Pound cheaper that's for sure.

Digesting Removing all evidence of the Ace Cake
