ACOC News and Events / 2017 National Day
« on: March 22, 2017, 18:46:50 »
UPDATE

SUNDAY - as in the earlier post but it will be important to let me know if you are coming so we can secure enough space.
WE WILL NEED TO KNOW NUMBERS

   SATURDAY
For those who wish to make a weekend of it we plan a gentle drive through the fens to see something of the drainage system that keeps the sea at bay.
Starting at Anglesey Abbey near Cambridge we drive to  Streatham Old Engine
( 25ft beam engine driving 37ft waterwheel lift ing 150 tons water per minute ) , then to Ely (once an island,  very fine cathedral ) and then follow the main rivers and drainage channels to Denver Sluice , where there is a nice looking pub for lunch.
Then a quicker drive through Thetford Forest for an evening barbeque or something  at Burntwod End near Saffron Walden CB10 1XE
There is plenty of accommodation close by for overnight stays
AGAIN WE NEED TO KNOW NUMBERS FOR THE BARBEQUE

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Interesting....
« on: January 08, 2017, 21:23:18 »
This must be BXF 2530, the only red LHD car listed in the build ledger
Last known owner was Louis McMillen in Massachusetts, from a long time ago.
There is a note in the Register that it has been painted green and may have been  sold in2007, possibly to John Payson in Florida, who had other AC's
Does anyone know of john Payson and have a contact, or a contact for Tom Cotter who may have noted the chassis number ?

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Greyhound for sale in Ohio
« on: October 12, 2016, 13:28:04 »
Thank you Blair
From what you write, you may have found the remains of the pedal box and master cylinder frame on what is now your passenger side ?
If so it could indeed be 2563 converted to left hand
From one of your pics the dash board looks like solid wood rather than veneered. All the Greyhound wood dashboards I've seen have been veneered
If you could let me have your e-mail address I will send pictures of the instruments and the pedal box area - and anything else you would like
   Best wishes

Thank you so much Blair. Will do.
So pleased you are happy with the Hoon, a Greyhound with a V8 is a wonderful thing
I wonder if you have found any sign of Chassis Number yet ?
As I've explained, BEF 2563 would fit except that it is/was right hand drive  and you are are left
Are there any signs of a change in drive ?
I look forward to hearing how you progress
   Good luck

You can see the car on Auctions America website
It's a bit of a mystery at the moment as the chassis plate is missing. It.
It may have been converted to LHD, trying to find out more
   Guide price is $14-18

A really impressive restoration
The car is BEF 2502 dated 4/11/60 on the factory build sheet and listed for years in the Register with D Boucher as last known owner in London. Then for sale in 2013 having been with a Dr Cibelli in California since 1977 !
Present owner Jimmy Harris must be a very proud man

General Forum / NEC November 15th -17th 2013 Classic show
« on: November 17, 2013, 16:45:15 »
Congratulations Team Ac, a really nice stand - and of course, coming from me, specially nice to see a such nice Greyhound !
Of course I forgot both my phone and camera so I'd appreciate pictures of the Greyhound, under - bonnet and inside as well if possible.
Lots of lovely cars at the show but also a bit sad, I can't imagine some of them actually going anywhere.
But did solve the problem of the Greyhound steering rack, having spent time on my back under a few cars I'm now pretty sure it's Morris Oxford, certainly up to Mark 3 and I'm trying to find out what the Indian Ambassador has.
Also you need two front bumper bars from the London taxi for your Greyhound, one for the front and one cut and shut for the rear. The rear bumper of the taxi has curly bits at the ends.
