Hi,
I looked at topic "Spring rates", https://www.acownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=2752.0 ,
when replacing my coil-overs. I had to translated the spring rate figures given to metric
measurements and assumed the weight of the car to be 1720 kg without spare wheel.
(its actually 1668,5 kg with me in the driving seat and half a tank of petrol, 1590Kg without.
Weight distribution is 50,13%/49,99% respectively).

The old shocks and springs were checked by SDV in Dalarna Sweden and the results were close to the figures in the topic.
So the coil-overs were made up to these specs. The origonal Koni coil-over kit is not manufactured any more.

The origonal coil-overs on my 1995 model looked pretty tired after twenty odd years of service,
rusty with the bumpstops disintegrating and one front shock absorber leaking slightly.
I found the car sat unevenly after I fitted the new coil-overs, so I wish I had measured the ground clearance
before fitting (could'nt use the old springs as we reused parts of the old Koni shocks). The handbook states 15cm,
but I have not managed to match that so the clearance is 13,5 passenger side, 14cm drivers side without driver.
I'm happy with the result, the ride is firm but not bumpy, and seems to clear sleeping-policemen better, which it didn't before!

Its off a Sierra Cosworth, but you need to read the whole thread. It can well be the same item as the Granada mentioned in
the previous post, but I've looked at a picture of one from a '78-'81and that has three brake pipe conections, the earlier model only
appears to have two connections. Compare pics for '72-76 and '78-'81

VNUK or the proposal for "compulsory insurance against civil liability in respect of the use of vehicles" seems to be a
non-event here. With respect to motor racing its already a requirement to have insurance and a racing licence since way back.

Seem to remember paying for Green cards in UK back in the 1970's, but here they were free of charge then and still free now.

They often cut a hole in the ice with a chain saw.

Here are some leads/checks you can do, and sequence to follow; I'm assuming the checks you've done on the units were on the workbench.
Fuse 13 in the main fuse box could be the one, power to the control unit (ECU) is supplied via the ignition key switch and from the line fuse supplying the pump.
Power to the pump is supplied by the 30Amp fuse found near the battery terminal, see pic in post: https://www.acownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=8494.30

You can check both power feeds by removing the relay mounted beside the ECU, see pic attached. Mine is marked "214" with an Audi symbol, its a WAG part common
on Audis, scrapyards here seem to be full of them (143 hits).

My roof does not always lower when the engine runs (why I wonder?)
Make sure the manual release catch is pushed in to the locked position.
For "roof down" my vehicle has to be in neutral with the handbrake on and the ignition on
without the engine running to work (9 times out of 10).
The red light should come on when the roof is unlocked and the hood front lifted to the position where it doesn't drop down.
The windows should drop down about 2 inches too (only the passenger window drops on my vehicle).
There is only one light to my knowledge, though I seem to remember a mention of lights on the ECU unit from somewhere....

For "roof up" same procedure except I can usually run the engine.
I don't think the Thatcham ignition disabler has to be switched into start engine mode to operate the roof.

Its a 30 amp line fuse near the battery, if I remember correctly. Thought I had a photo but can't find one at the moment. Will post one when I go up to the garage next. My fuse blew because the pump was immersed in water, I never found the leak, so I drilled a drainage hole instead.

yes please that's very kind of you, I still have the same e-mail address. You will have to explain the Dropbox procedure.

I've discovered that the wiring behind the instrument console follows the Granada/Scorpio wiring diagram using the same colour codes, but the wiring
at the Alternator end is Mustang '95 using Mustang colour codes. I suspect the two have been spliced together somehow with the Sigma alarm probably
involved too. Someone has been there before me as some of the wires have been spliced, one of which is the battery supply to the instrument cluster (Black/Yellow)
The ignition lamp does dim now the battery is charged, but is not competely off. I'm wondering if the 500 ohm resistor show wired in parallel with
the ignition lamp on the Mustang diagram is needed? It is missing on my car.

Hi,
 I've used Aidrian's guide to access the auxiliary fuse box, via the central console, which is a very helpful
guide as to where to begin. See topic "Auxiliary Fuse box" : https://www.acownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=3523.0
I have a Mk 1 "Brooklands" and I found the procedure differs to the Mk2 as follows:

1) I removed the air vents over the central console as Aidrian advised, but my vents where just a press fit over the feeder pipe connection, no hose connection to push back.

2)  In with a boroscope, found there were no cross head self tappers. The top of the console is held by two pieces of metal with slots to slide behind the glass fiber dash.
To remove the console the panel has to be lifted out at the bottom and lowered about a centimeter then it comes out easily. But its not that easy!

3) Before lifting out the console, the radio and its holder has to be removed to get at two swivel latches fitted on either side of the console.
I discovered that this is not easy at all (took 4 hours+!), at least with the Alpine radio fitted. I could not remove the radio from its holder, so I levered down
the tines holding the frame in place using thin plastic rulers and hacksaw blades.

4) Once the radio and its holder are out of the way the swivel latches, fitted on either side of the console just below the heater controls, can easily be felt and rotated via the hole the radio leaves.
Then pull the lower part of the console towards you and downwards. This releases the console.

The aux. fuse box and relays can now be seen.

(Reason I'm digging in behind the console is a long story. I discovered that the instrument panel lights fitted were all 24V bulbs!
Since the change to 12V bulbs the ignition light is now permanently "on". Seems I'm not getting 12V at the power feed input to the alternator regulator, only 6V.
I'm still tracing the wiring at this time).

Sweden's in lockdown, the rest of Europe can travel to us (except for the Finns I think) but we can't travel to them, very strange!
