Back in the mid 1990s, there was a biweekly TV show from France called "Cobra Girls" in which co-hosts Katia and Isis toured around France at the wheel of an original 289 Cobra, reporting on the places and people they visited along the way.
I found a photo in an old issue of The Shelby American which shows the registration plate to be: 3071-YD-92. The car is LHD and painted solid red.
Does anyone know which car this is? Is it a CSX or COX car? COX6003 or COX6016, maybe? Other?
Thanks.

I can't seem to hotlink a photo from Facebook, so here is another image I found online.

6003? Could be, but there's no record of this car being in the '92' department (Hauts-de-Seine); in the mid 90s it was in Toulouse.
6016? Very unlikely: the ACOC Cobra Register records it as 'not seen since the 70s; believed destroyed'.
Perhaps Katia or Isis (les somptueuses) could help?

A shot of 6003 from '88 shows a rear-view mirror mounted at the same spot on the driver's door, but it is a different style. Still ... that's an uncommon place to mount a mirror.

Yes, that is an uncommon location. Only really works if a convex mirror is used (http://photos.zweezy.com/img_69c1d4c5133340dabca924d7bfa152b2.jpg)

that CSX was bought by a french Guy in Florida who sold it to Canal Jimmy
-
Canal Jimmy - now just Jimmy - is apparently still a viable cable TV channel. Surely there is a way to figure out who "Canal Jimmy" is and back-track the car's ownership?
-
Canal Jimmy has been taken over years ago by Canal Plus. At that time the car was sold in the fall. Since then it has been entered in the Tour Auto. Now the property of a French gentleman . More to follow soon

not cobra relates, but Canal Jimmy (supposed to be the 30 years old yuppies channel) died few monts ago [B)] ... it's a pity as it was one of the first channel to broadcast US "clever" series (Seinfeld, That's 70's show, etc) rather than mainstream soaps, and first classic cars show (Cambouis), in the early 90's ... the ending video each evening was displaying a porsche speedster :

souvenirs, souvenirs [;)] ... no precise infos regarding the CSX, though [:o)] !

Thanks for the tip!
Here are some webfind photos of CSX2236 from the Giro Sicilia Rally in May 2005. The car has the same, unusual sideview mirror location. At the time it wore a transverse nose stripe.
