Differential oil change : little trick !

I changed the oil from the engine and from the differential as well ... Not a big deal, especially as I use Motul 75w90 300LS, in a small tank with a very flexible neck (I added a 1meter hose to this neck):
   
   
   
   But the space between the boot and the filling hole is tight and you have to smash the tank to make the oil going up to the hole ! Was struggling with that... Until I realised there was a hole in the boot with a grommet , just level to the hole [:o)] ! What a moron ...

Do not forget the "friction modifier " that needs to be put in third member or the "red head" will not forgive you!

By the way, it took me one hange to figure out hole in boots use as well!

   regarding your warning, I stand to be corrected, but the oil used already contains the LS additive needed...

Retired guy is fine, this no snow way of life is great. The "snowbirds" have left Florida  for spring /summer/ fall...much less people. You and the "red head be good to each other!

   But now a doubt is frightening me : after reading your message, I've read few times that synthetic oil (not talking about additive or LsD) is not recommended by Jaguar specialists in the Salisbury (of the XJ-S, but I assume it uses the same part), because of leather (!) an organic parts, and it may harm clutches and cones of the differential  ... Now I don't know what to think ?!?

F.F., I'm a believer in using the OE recommended rear end lubes and trans lube. Synthetic and HP motor craft oil filers for engine. Watch the brake fluids spec as there is an upgrade that you DO NOT want. We're it me, I'd drain pumpkin and refill with factory specs.
