Dear all, I have recently started my car up for the first time. I have noticed that the rear wheel arches and the actual body of the car's arches do get quite hot. I have heat reflectant matting lining the wheel arches but the body is still quite hot. Is this unusual? Another query is that the section of exhaust piping which extends under the rear fibreglass boot, is very close to it. My fear is that it could melt. Do any of you have reflectant matting along this section  and also what distance is the top of your pipe from the tub. And following on from that how far is the top of the exit pipe from the car body, near the rear bumper  because my body gets hot there as well. Many thanks. Gary

Can anyone advise me on a good set of speakers to fit in the outer side panels of the footboxes. Anyone know which ones Ac Cars used or of an alternative set you have used. The issue is that the rear side depth has to be very shallow due to the small distance from the fibreglass footboxes to the outer ally skin. It's only about an inch.
   Many thanks

Dear all, if anyone is thinking of replacing their exhaust system and lives in the Northwest of England, I can highly recommend a company called Cybox, they are based on the Wirral. They've just fitted an excellent system on my car. It's all stainless, 2.5 inch tubing throughout, high flow Magnaflow cats and silencers. Here's a couple of images - (hope this works!)

Hi all, can anyone advise me how the front nose meshed grille is mounted? A couple of images from the inside of the nose would be very helpful. Many thanks. Gary

Please can anyone advise where I may be able to buy a set of brass spinners from. Redline here in the UK used to sell them but don't anymore. Many thanks. Gary

Hi everyone, please can someone advise me. My car has just been removed off its assembly trestles as it is nearing completion of its build. These cars do sit very low to the ground!! For anyone who does their own maintenance or winter servicing, what method or equipment have you found best to get the car up to a suitable height and have you had any difficulties actually getting a jack under the car in the first instance.
   Many thanks

Dear all,
Can any Superblower owner tell me if they have replaced their radiator and if so where the replacement was sourced from. Or does anyone know who supplied AC Cars with their Superblower radiators. Or, does anyone know if the mk 4 rad is the same as the Superblowers
   Many thanks

Dear all,can anyone tell me if there is a difference in profile between the front inner wings of the Superblower and Mk4 cars. I wondered if, due to the location of the superchargers was the profile altered on the Superblower. If any one could post images of the inner wings (feeders?) we should be able to compare. Also has anybody got rid of their grp inner wings and converted to the aluminum panelled inner wings, I would be very interested to see how you did it.
Many thanks in anticipation of your help.

Dear all,

I'm trying to source a set of the engine heater tubes for my Superblower, that were fitted to the 5.0 EFI engines. I think they were a bespoke component made by AC Cars because the stock Mustang item doesn't appear to be compatible with these cars.

Has anyone with an EFI engined car, removed or disconnected their cockpit heater, and therefore have a spare set they would be willing to sell me.

The efi engines have the engine coolant sensor fitted into the assembly.

If you  have a non EFI car I may still be interested in any spare heater tubes and I would have to relocate the sensor.

   Many thanks

Dear all,

The Superblowers were fitted with a T5 transmission. I would presume the CRS's and Mk4's may have all had the same??

However there is a difference between the Mustang 89-93 T5's and the 94-95 T5's in that the input shaft on the 94-95 trans is about an inch longer. I think this was done so the gearbox would sit slightly further back in the chassis of that model year Mustang.

Can anyone tell me which transmission model was fitted to the Superblowers, or CRS's and Mk4's for that matter?

I suspect the part number found on a metal tag bolted to the transmission may assist me in identifying the model.

   Many thanks

I am trying to purchase a small engine part for my car which is on Ebay in the States (Michigan). It is a very important engine component and is quite rare to see for sale. Unfortunately the seller won't ship outside of the States.
Would any member of the ACOC, based in the States, be prepared to take delivery of the part and then ship to me in the UK?
I would be very grateful! I will of course send necessary funds to cover the shipping costs.
Many thanks in anticipation of your king help.

Dear all,

Can anyone advise me as to what the differential ratio is on the Superblower - as fitted in the factory?

And is there a way that I can confirm the differential gearing fitted to my car by reference to any markings on the case?

   Many thanks

Dear all.

Can anyone tell me if they have fitted a TKO 500/600 gearbox to their Mk4, Superblower or CRS - in place of the factory fitted T5?

The TKO rear mount is 1 inch further back than the T5's and the base of the mount is 1/2 an inch closer (shorter)to the gearbox centreline (longitudinally), so I would presume the gearbox mount/cross,member would need to be adapted/shimmed?

I am at the point of purchasing a TKO for my Superblower build. Our cars have a cross member/brace already welded into the chassis to support the gearbox. Can anyone tell me if I require a seperate cross member or will the box bolt directly to it? If there is a cross member which bolts to the bottom of the box, which then bolts to the chassis, can anyone tell me where the cross member is sourced from - is there a manufacturers part number stamped on it for example?

Any images would be a great help.

Many thanks in anticipation of your help.

Dear all,

I am at the stage of giving thought to the installation of the oil cooler and radiator on my part built Superblower.
Can anyone who has had these components removed during a refurb of their own car, have any photos in this area which may help to show firstly how the radiator and oil cooler are fitted to the car and then how the aluminium panels fit around the nose to guide air through the radiator?
   Hope this makes sense!
   kind regards

Dear all,

Has anyone experienced brake bleeding problems with these cars. I am at the stage of bleeding the brakes on my Superblower build project. I have noticed that the remote reservoir is only a little higher than the location of the master cylinder. The low pressure brake hoses fitted to the outlet ports on the reservoir have to swoop down before they can bend round and head off to the master cylinder, this causes a bit of a trench and an 'uphill' section of piping and the gravity feed to the cylinder is then lost. As a result, I am struggling to do the first bleed of my brake system. Has anyone experienced this problem and if so, how did you overcome it?
I have pumped the pedal a million times but don't have any fluid coming out of the exits of the cylinder. I may have to pressurise the system with a shreader valve type pump device in order to do the first bleed of the system, the fluid then may work in a syphoning type effect???
   Any advice would be welcome.
   Many thanks
   Gary
