Hi Shep

This was my forum notification Sept 2012.

BMTR Birmingham have just received their latest new size Avon CR6ZZ 225/60 15 diameter is 25" rather than the Avon CR6ZZ 225/65 15 diameter is 26.65" which should reduce potential fouling of the GRP front inner wheel arch liner under extremes. The larger rear tyres 275/55 15" diameter is 26.9".

Prices are on the BMTR website http://www.bmtr.co.uk then click on Motorsport. Next day delivery for 4 tyres is £20 + VAT. If you phone them ask for the Motorsport department and ask for David or Peter. They are very helpful.

I have both 225/60 & 225/65 and I prefer the 225/60s and they do not fowl on the inner wheel arch liners. The 225/65 will ware holes in your fibre glass liners. I think you will find the 275s are best suited for MkIV provided your suspension/coils are uprated or not too soft.

You will find they are like riding on a carpet in comparison to your old over hardened rubber boots.

Peter,

The success of the ACOC Shelsley Walsh hillclimb event has laid the foundations for an annual ACOC event. It may be worth you considering the views of all ACOC competitors and ACOC spectators whether a one or two day meeting would be more appropriate. We might achieve a full complement of ten or more competitors. I am sure we might be aloud more competitors if enough early support is forthcoming.

Everyone expressed how much they enjoyed the event venue and so many spectators expressed their delight in seeing the AC Cars competing on the hill.

Now that we have achieved such a successful event I would love to see Shelsley Walsh ACOC Hillclimb event in the ACOC event calendar for next year and with enough forward planning we may some draw some of our European ACOC members to this most historic venue?

After all it is the oldest motorsport venue in the world.       www.shelsley-walsh.co.uk

Thanks for getting the event off the ground.

   Best regards

Roger Thomas has arranged for display parking for upto 25 cars - so please mention to the gate keepers.
They have arranged for a Saturday drive from the Hillclimb as requested by Peter. On Sunday all AC Cars displaying will drive the hill in convoy at your own pace during the lunch break.

Great facilities and food available during the day.

Weather is proving to be favourable for a great days entertainment.

   See you all there

Shelsley Walsh - The oldest operational motorsport venue in the world.
Weather forecast for the weekends entertainment looks very promising and improving for Sunday.
Looking forward to your support and a full display of AC Cars and ACOC spectators at the '2014 Speed into Spring' opening meeting.
You'll find all the competing AC cars altogether in the paddock.
   See you there

Hi Peter,

You have my support. I have submitted an entry in my AC Superblower via the web site which has online regulations & event entry on the Midland Automobile Club, Shelsley Walsh Hillclimb web site  http://www.shelsley-walsh.co.uk/default.asp
Anyone interested in competing needs to be aware that the closing date for entries is 3rd April.

It might be worth asking Andy Shepherd or Bruce Claassen to email all previous AC entries to ACOC Clubman Sprint at Goodwood so we can try and at least have ten AC car entries.

Who else is planning on competing at the first purpose built motor sport venue in history? Shelsley Walsh even precedes Brooklands. Lets hope there is plenty of support from ACOC members to compete and spectate. If anyone needs assistance with finding accommodation please do not hesitate contacting me.

An excellent follow on to John Abel's smooth handover of operations to Bruce. Well done to Bruce's excellent support team in the paddock Michael & John. Special thanks to Mike Smith for his gentle but stern control as usual.

ACOC News and Events / AC Owners’ Club 2013 Clubman’s Sprint Meeting
« on: September 28, 2013, 10:56:47 »
Are ACOC members aware that they able to participate and support the event in other than an AC? AC owners who don't wish to dirty their pride and joy are able to support the event in another car if their beloved AC is currently off the road. Should the Sprint meeting be opened up to one guest per ACOC member to a new class of 'ACOC guest'?
You already have our entry support. Malcolm & Sarah

Graham,

Did you buy the set of wheels? I have a look because I may have a spare from my set of 16" which were originally on my Superblower. What sort of price are you looking to pay?

Vintage, PVT & 2 Litre Forum / Vintage AC for sale?
« on: July 11, 2013, 19:40:42 »
I had emailed this two bit auction house a week ago for certain information and requested a telephone bid having supplied all necessary information. I heard nothing so I phoned to be rammed with their terms and conditions requesting a £1000 deposit, yes one thousand pound deposit for the privilege of being allowed a telephone bid. So I politely told them to stuff their auction up their a**!!! This extremely beautiful early AC deserves better handling and treatment than this bunch of cowboys. Still not even had the courtesy of a reply to my email. I pity the poor bugger who let them have this outback auction outfit to try and achieve best them best market value with their snotty terms of conditions because they cannot be bothered to do some work.

Here is the link of my edited YouTube footage of a run up the newly tarmaced 'Rest & Be Thankful Hillclimb'.

We had suffered severe rain and hail prior to and during practice. Sadly two of the Thames Ditton brigade did not quite make it and the Mk IV, CRS & Superblower contingent made up 50% of the turn out.

A great time was had by all. Many thanks to Graham & Barrie for the organising the event.
