Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Re: AC Ace AEX-1010 Found
« on: August 30, 2021, 13:27:01 »
Hello Fastpace, You have a very interesting project. I have available a completely  new rebuilt CL AC 2 litre engine which I now do not need, this might be of interest to you if you want to bring the car back to original. Let me know if you would like further details.
Leo

If Fastpace doesn't have interest I'd like some further details on your engine

Thanks in advance

A vote for Ron.

I was fortunate enough to purchase a transmission from Ron. He is a man of integrity and I would not hesitate to do business with him. A true car guy!

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Does anyone know who owns AEX 59?
« on: August 21, 2014, 19:53:50 »
Peter has owned some incredible cars over the years, mostly Italian and mostly coach built. One of the good old boys that has been at it before it was cool to be into these cars.

We got some incredibly rare Abarth items from him for a project.

As any of us would he will be tickled to know the paperwork exists.

The catalog confirms it is CF31.

The car had a bare metal respray in 2010 and claims it was on a good body.

Does anyone know anything about the early history of this car?
Has anyone seen the car in person and care to share an opinion?

   My biggest concern is rust.

   Thanks in advance,  Fred

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Correct Spark Plugs for Bristol
« on: June 30, 2011, 15:53:42 »
Thanks for the welcome Keith,

Two different Bristol 100D2 engines, one in BEX1210, the other in a Tojeiro TAD 2/55.

Both of these were running the shorter reach plugs but BEX1210 had some used long reach Lodge 10RL49's in the spares.

Did the factory spec the long reach originally? The cylinder head sure could use the longer reach plug.

   Cheers,  Fred

What are the correct plugs for a D2 Bristol engine?

Lodge 2HL10  with short thread and exposed electrode
NGK  C6HSA   with short thread and exposed electrode
Lodge  10RL49 with long thread and non exposed electrode

   Thanks in advance!

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Ace Exhaust Systems
« on: May 28, 2011, 01:26:03 »
I'm looking for information on exhaust systems for Ace's and am somewhat confused, what is the correct system for each car?

   AC engined car:
   Header color, white/grey/black
   Muffler
Tailpipes, natural steel? Do the angled cuts in the pipes face the ground or the side?

Are the Bristol engined cars the same?
I've seen the angled cuts on the tailpipes facing both directions on Bristol cars, which is correct?
BEX1210 won the preservation class at Pebble Beach in 09 and it had a white exhaust header.

Finally, how are the Ruddspeed cars configured?

   Thanks in advance!
