Kirkham or Thomas are the best in US

Something like this...….

My plan as we start into winter is to take the front wheels off my 289 car (15" FIA's with Goodyear Power Cushion) and look at the space in the rear particular to muffler.

If this looks kosher, I will switch to 15" Sunbursts using Blue Dot or Power Cushion bias tires.  Bias = Yes!

Why Bias?
The story about the initial track testing of the AC MKIV was that Bob Bondurant (Ford's driver of choice) drove the MKIV with the 16" wheels using Gatorback's and could not keep it on the track.  Later testing, after consult with the original designer of the 60's frame, was that the chassis and car benefit from 15" (higher aspect ratio sidewall) as a better choice as the initial frame and design of the car itself used the interaction of chassis and tire for ultimate handling.  So in a nutshell, for the street its of no matter, 15" wheels using higher aspect ratio and even bias tires benefit the handling according to initial internal Ford testing. Once they switched to the 15's in the Ford testing Bob said, the car has been fixed and it tracked perfectly.  Who knew?

Fun facts we all want to know...…

Also will give a cool street car look to the stance of the car..... Jeff

Looks like magnolia is a beige color, which works.
Looking for original solid version versus the Cobra style as the top is cut for OEM visors.
Will need to modify top for Cobra version.

What is magnolia?

67
Great
I’ll try them

Thanks to all.

Mike O sent me a digital copy of the owners manual.  its 50mph, so back roads only in cooler weather.

Appreciate the help in this as I am trying to avoid body damage etc....   THANKS
Jeff

Guys

Installed my soft top, I have no owners manual to reference any details.
Is there a max speed while driving with soft top.  I don't want to damage car or top if it cannot exceed a certain speed.
Basically can you drive 65-70 mph without issue?

I planned to modify the form a bit making it a word doc, that way its easy for all to digitally edit so I can read...

72
Correct, they have broken out the cars separately Mustangs GT350, MKII, MKIII, GT40's etc.....

They have asked me to keep track of MKIV, they gave me the form which Ill attach best I can

Think there is a drive to simplify the process, not totally sure.  The MKII book is out and the GT350 book is out.  Soft cover and easily printed thus cheaper to make and keep current.

Assume similar over time for the rest ?? Cannot make a registry if there is no information after the last book came out.  Worse case we can make our own as long as there is interest and a desire.

Fellow owners

Looks like I will be helping/aiding with the AC portion of the SAAC registry.
Hope to get some support from this website as I think tracking our cars are important.
Before sending information to me I will be adding a registry sheet to this forum.
Trying to keep it easy and also informational as it is all part of the process and good for our individual cars.

Registry adds value
Registry adds to the history
Registry adds records of each owner
I’ll post Registry form very soon then you can send your favorite picture and car history via email. I will add appropriate email address upon adding form!

Hey, it’s fun.
I thank you for your support before hand.
Jeff
