Cobra-ized AEX140 on eBay
« on: June 16, 2017, 14:18:24 »
Have you guys seen this:
   http://www.ebay.com/itm/1956-AC-Ace-289-V8-GT350-Original-AC-Ace-Body-Cobra-Nose-/352068958273?rmvSB=true

Must admit if I had some extra $$$ I'd be tempted, seems reasonably priced for what it is. Closest I'd ever get to owning a real Cobra, although having driven a real 289, other than the value, I wouldn't trade my Ace for one!

Might be an interesting car to convert back to original spec. This of course depends on the extent to which it has been modified.
I am right to think that it had an AC engine originally?

Correct, was AC Engined originally. Not sure the cost could be justified to put it back, I'd keep it as-is!

The front of the car (in front of the windshield) is fibreglass. I don't think converting back to original would be worthwhile. In essence, only the chassis and the mid/rear of the body are AC.
