I just noticed that AK1227 is for sale on ebay USA. The "Buy it Now" price is $98,900.00. Here's the link to the sale:

The "Shelby" autograph on the Autokraft plate is a joke, isn't it? Last time when this car was offered at ebay it had a radio at that place. Is the car more worth without a radio but with a Shelby autograph [:)]
-
Someone noticed besides me, I thought I was imagining it. Perhaps the autograph lends value...it certainly does not denote a better product. As T.L. and others have observed, the BA AutoKraft cars were superior to the original AC's in construction (weldment) fit and finish.
-
You´re right, Jim, that´s why the AutoKraft´s money for value is unique!
Michael

OK OK don't PUPU the price because of Mr. Shelby's signature. If it were not for him, I would still be driving my Morgan and thinking I was bad. I hope everyone always gets their price for their car. Oh and by the way, I took the stereo out of my MKIV also.[:)]
-
took the stereo out of mine as well, the "cubby" is fine for sunglasses, cell phone and EZPass
-
Mine never had a stereo to take out ...and the little Autokraft blocking plate looks just great where it belongs!
-
When I removed the radio, I did not have a cover. Fortunately I found one on this forum. MKIV (Mr.Muck) had an extra one in tan. My interior is blue so I had is stained at a local shop. Probably the last one available. Thanks again MKIV.

This car seems to be a similar investment to the shares I hold, Its dropped $10K in a week! If it follows a similar pattern it'll be real cheap in a couple of months! [:(]

-
But you can't take the shares for a drive and get the smile back on your face!!!
-
Thats so true...... But they did used to help put some gas in the tank! Its no where near as much fun sat in the garage going "vrmmmm vrmmmm"!
-
Ooops 1023 - too much information! (I had heard rumours....)
Still, if you can't afford to start the engine, the carbon monoxide can't get you :-)
-
Trevor, does that make me a bad person????? The one and only Cobra owning eco warrior!!!!
I do however need to practice my "Vrmmmmmm Vrmmmmmmm!" as I can't quite get the deep growly notes right as yet, but given time.
It does have some real plus points you may not have considered, you can drive like this with a glass of wine in your hand! [:D]
-
Knowing the kind of 'leadership' we are currently 'blessed' with, that'll soon be illegal as well! Just suggesting you sit in your car, safe in your garage, wine in hand, will fall foul of the thought police, as Mr.Clarkson will tell you.
BTW, it wasn't me, I didn't type that......
-
Leadership?????????? errrr.... Have you been drinking Trevor?
-
I did use inverted commas!!!!! Don't get me started, I can feel one of me turns......(and yes, of course I've been drinking, trying to forgot about our beloved optically challenged, pictish oberfurher)
How are your deep growly notes coming along? I'll expect a demonstration next time we meet. :-)

It does seem that the motoring journalist/writers/photographers of the UK seem to have a combined dislike for the Cyclops of the North. Jeremy seems to lead the pack followed closely by our very own Trevor!
I have to say I did sign the "Jeremy Clarkson for Prime Minister" petition thinking it was a bit of a wheeze at the time, but in hindsight we should all have taken to the streets with banners!
At least with "Jezza" it would have been a fun, fast & furious drive to disaster. Tyres would have been squealing, rubber burning, and the pit lane would definitely have been lined with beautiful girls. We'd all have had a beer in our hand, a song in our heart and a smile on our face as the ship went down somewhere off the "English Riviera" on a bright sunny July day. With Gordon its just numbing resigned disbelief while drinking cold tea and eatting soggy biscuits in the drizzle as the ship slowly sinks beneath the cold grey waves just off Grimsby in mid February.
On the bright side though my engine should be back sometime in March, so I might be able to squander the last of my hard earned on some petrol come April! Thats "No More Pretend Trips!". The real thing will soon be mine! Still not getting to excited, as I've been here before. :(
Best keep practicing the "Vrmmmmmm Vrmmmmmm". But the fingers are crossed!
-
Let us pray that this time your new motor does not revert to its component parts as you drive orf into the sunset!! Good luck! parp parp
-
I did think the only character involved with cars that went "Parp Parp" was Noddy..... I could be mistaken???? Aren't we supposed to be V8's with a roar and a definite Vrrrooooom.
This (I have to say) is not exactly petrol head muscle car material, more a 2CV sort of sound. I think Trevor you need to research another book sharpish! You've been away to long![:)]
You know I don't mean it,...... but "Parp Parp!" Come on!!!!!
-
Actually, if we're getting pedantic, it was Mr. Toad ("it's the ONLY thing....")
You can Vroooom if you wish - I'll sit the corner and have a quiet parp.
-
I'll buy you one of these for Christams Trevor...... Parp Parp!

Be careful in the corner Parping.... Your not on your own it seems!
-
Well all I can say is that Christmas can't come soon enough!!!!!!! (or Christams) Gives me something to look forward to!
But I'm concerned about the sort of websites you trawl in your leisure time.....

-
Sort of a ToysRus with real VavaVrooooooom!
Strange looking Duck dressed as Dracula don't you think?
Parping good name though! [:I]
Oooops..... I was'nt supposed to look was I!
-
Well, I did try to warn you!
-
If Trevor looks we'll never stop him parping in the corner!
Christmas just won't be the same (Christams)!
Please note I'm trying to be more careful with my spelling!
-
Won't look at that as it might corrupt someone as youthful and innocent as moi. I think the smiley that Nik posted gives the game away?? For shame....

That's the one!!! God, that's not a pretty sight.....
-
There he was in the middle of doing the show and somebody mentioned V8's & AC Cobras! [:D]
You should see the cool wall..... Plastered with 427's!
-
427s are waaay too cool for that show. We're talking proper cars here!!! :-)
