Mystery Ace Bristol at Goodwood Revival
« on: September 22, 2011, 20:55:48 »
Despite the best efforts of Keith & Tim, This long-boot Ace Bristol that was in the Pre-`66 GRRC car park at the Goodwood Revival is unknown to the Club!!!
Is it yours? Do you know who owns this little beauty?
Please could you confirm chassis / engine numbers and whether the owner is an ACOC member so that the Ace Bristol Register can be brought up to date? Thanks!

Nik, isn't this AE 70?
I seem to remember we discussed this one before, see also these links:

   http://www.rmauctions.com/CarDetails.cfm?SaleCode=LF10&CarID=r189

I do realise there are some interesting differences between the photos in the links when it was up for auction and the photos above.

Jerry.

Reading the write up reference Live Auctioneers, they ACtually comfirm that UTU627 was the original registration issued to AE70.

I associated AE70 with its registration  ACE14 which it wore for many years.

Another Ace comes back home, Reckon there are more Ace's in the UK now than ever before. Many comming back from USA however many going to France, Germay and Switzerland.  USAs 75% ratio has changed dramatically over the past 10 years.

Well, that didn`t take long, did it? Thanks Jerry!
Looks like someone bagged a bit of a bargain at £128k, for such an early car in such fantastic form!
Best of all, it`s getting out and about.

Nik.

Thank you for posting the pictures of AE70. And thank you for a quick positive response from Jerry.( As to be expected... Mine of information)

Looking through some old documents Back in the Late 1980s early 1990s  Ace AE70 was owned by S. Lister, in the UK and was fitted with a Alfa 2.0 litre engine.

Good improvement and more in character it is now fitted with a 100D/D2 Bristol engine.

   Cheers.
