My Insurance Co is asking for .......
« on: March 24, 2015, 23:49:43 »
I requested to increase the value of my 1998 AC MIV on a classic auto policy and they are asking me for this ... where would i get this info ?

â€¢Please provide documentation (not an appraisal) that supports the requested value of $90,000 for the 1988 AC MK IV Cobra.

   Thanks

I had the same problem when trying to increase the insured value of my MK IV. I sent several auction sales results and reported private sale results to my insurance company, American Collectors, and asked for an agreed value of $90K.  They refused to increase the value to that amount and agreed "as a courtesy" to increase the value to $75K. The premium did not increase significantly when the value was changed from $60K to $75K.

Do you have "stated value" insurance or "Agreed value" insurance? There is a BIG difference.

Why not supply adverts of similarly priced cars, such as this

I've used both Grundy, my current insurance company, and J. C. Taylor as well for my Mk. IV.  Both had competitive rates and have been around for a while.  Both were significantly less expensive than Hagerty and American Collector when I got quotes from them for my Cobra.
