Matt & Laraine Many thanks from the Luxembourg Team for this exciting few days in Devon.
We enjoyed:
- the colleagial spirit of the ACOC members
- the very nice hotel with superior parking facilities
- the excellent food
- the interesting places we visited
- the opportunity to drive our mounts under adverse climate conditions and get a better feeling for wet road driving in our beasts [

What a week!
3182 kms (1989 miles) in 9.5 days in a faultlessly working Cobra MkIV!
Left home on Friday 23rd. Pitstops at Lille where we teamed up with Juergen & Ursula, had a good dinner in the city and slept in Hotel Couvent des Minimes (good Cobra parking on top), at King's Somborne for an overnight stay at Andy & Karen Shepherd's home at Pepperwood Park discussing cars and horses ( many thanks to both Andy and Karen), 2 nights at Tarr Steps where the girls convinced me and Juergen to join in on a 12 mile walk through Exmoore NP. After the International we made it down to Mousehole with the Wahns for an overnight stay, and on Sunday stopped at Land's End and had a last lunch with them in St Ives and then headed solo north to Rockbeare near Exeter airport from where we started home this morning for the last 800 kms leg plus channel crossing via the tunnel. Meanwhile we made it safely home, the beast is stabled and dry again and the three days of topless motoring in the rain left no further effect, carpets have dried out during our today's marathon ride to home, under sunny skîes.
Many thanks, Matt and Laraine for having been our wonderful hosts.
PS: a word of thanks also to my valid co-pilot Dany for enduring it all while I had fun at the wheel. Our co-pilots are true heroes, as Mike had so nicely pointed out.
