Home brewed kit beer - thats one replica easy to spot, the heady aroma of wet carpet, tastes like pish and a headache to match journeys end in a sidepiped 427 cobra kit car [:o)]........the stuff of legend......[:o)] [:D]

.......and was the damaged e-type also a replica? and the GT40s ?, BMW lightweights?, surely the austin saloon was original? No....?[}:)]
Wasn't there a class for all of these replicas in the 750 m/c race meetings or was that for look-a-likes and kit cars?
Somehow I have the feeling that replicas and facsimilies will link to furniture and stir the replica chippendale desks and popcorn thread again.......................... Mine's a pint of Timothy Taylor, thanks![:o)]

There's an '86 left hand drive coming up at H & H Auctions in July - good set of images on their web site.

Been away from classic racing for many years but can you really run replicas in the "Masters" series or is it a MK IV or other based replica racer[?]

As a newly joined "plastic pauper" thank God my wheel nuts say AC! Yet another reason not to change to spinners.
Maybe membership should be based on current vehicle prices with fees proportionate to the value of ones vehicle.[;)]

Does this debate on eligibility happen every month or only at the approach to the various summer get togethers?

PS The other RHD MKV is also currently for sale decked out as some form of retro racer at £69,950 on autotrader, the third and last Maltese car is LHD. What about the status of the new German models?

Thanks for the welcome Alan, so far we have changed the plugs and filter, replaced the clutch cable, decatted it, fitted flatter exhausts and removed the rear anti roll bar (well actually managed to scrape it off and damage the exhaust boxes all in one go on my drive) stiffened the shocks and dialed in a little extra ride height. ("We" means I do the damage and Neil Fisher fixes it). Definitely revs a little freer although performance still just about feels on par with my V8 Diesel ML, apart from the glorious noise of course! However I was most impressed that it didnt go into meltdown on a stop - start M25 (I did hug the inside lane just in case)
Will look into the shock tower brace and hopefully get a few miles "testing" in if the weather holds this week end.

Sounds like a lot of fun Keith, look forward to meeting you all (and Bex 333 of course)

Thanks for that offer Duggan, will take you up on it if I dont find a set before then - despite all the joys of open air motoring beloved by Keith I can't quite get my head around getting completely soaked in a car with velour dashboard, deep pile carpets and a full on "surround sound" system (not my taste but its there) .............let alone driving with a very wet and unhappy Mrs.....(PS does Keith travel alone?)

Amazing how the web throws up the unexpected - I was just looking for a local outfit for some race prep work (non AC)[:)]

Not the usual question re 15" wheels/tyres etc but as its probably about time I replaced the original 18 year old set of tyres (still totally unworn)on my CRS ready for Luxembourg. Does anyone have to hand details of the current replacement for the factory fitted Avons ?

I'm contemplating an Ace Brooklands - am I mad to even consider it given I do not maintain my own CRS?
I believe they failed because they were poorly designed and executed or is this from the same myth stable as how bad 428s were at the time?
   Any input wecome.

   Thanks
