Does an Aceca have an inner fender.Mine doesn't and any stones thrown around by the tyres impact directly on the soft ally body, not a pretty sight!. If they did have perhaps someone could post a pic so I could fabricate from GP or ally.
Nearly forgot another question. What are the wheel alignment specs and any suggestions on tyre pressures.Pirreli 185 x 16
Thanks

Lew,
I am not the Aceca expert but the last Aceca I saw hadn't any inner fender. Maybe you can use the same trick as the guys from Kirkham (the Cobra replica maker). They have the same problem you mentioned and they glue 1/2" neoprene into the wheel arch. Not original but works quite good and is easy to realise.

Lew - Belated congratulations on your recent acquisition. My Aceca has its original aluminum wire mesh stone guards mounted to its front inner fenders. I would post a pic but my car is out for servicing. If nobody posts anything in the next two weeks I will do so when I get it back.
Enjoy!

As reported before, it does have a wire mesh. The modern and arguably better solution is to glue in a medium density closed cell foam. This provides excellent protection and sound deadening. I used this on all my cars. I have the original wire mesh, but opted to use the foam instead.

Thanks guys, any help with wheel alignment would be gratefully recd.
I spent the WHOLE of yesterday in the driver side foot-well! First laying in ally backed butyl roof sealer, then fitting a thin ally plate(.030") to the top horizontal surface, held in place by button head cap screws. I did this as I have some concerns that the butyl could "unstick" itself and drop off".The most tedious part was adapting a universal steering rack boot to seal where the accelerator pedal spears thru the top.I have no idea if all of this is going to help with the sound levels but I might as well try!

Hello Greg,
do you happen to have taken this photo?
Or anybody else could help with this?
Thanks!

I just measured my stone guards (purchased from the Works in the 80’s) and got the exact same measurements as Nick. It appears AC kept a consistent pattern for the stone guards over the years…or they had a large stockpile of them left over when the Ace & Aceca went out of production. I had to use a piece of string to measure the length as I haven’t had a chance to get my car up on jack stands. FYI - the narrow end is mounted towards the aft of the car.

I also agree with Nick's measurements.

Thank you so much! Nick, John and Greg!
From the photo it looks like weaving, but may be is just an effect of the photo right?
It has a regular tapering shape with a base of 25 cm, and a top ot 18cm for 92 cm of total leght, right?
Thanks!!
