BEX169 Early West Coast Racing (1956)
« on: July 15, 2012, 13:08:45 »
Received the following email /link from John Lucke,  Thought it would be of interest to those who follow early racing history of our AC Ace/s. . [;)]

   Keith.

I came across this info on Tam McPartland's web site. It's specific to one Ace but is very early:

   http://www.tamsoldracecarsite.net/BillTibbetts011BobOkerACBristol59.html

The race history indicates it was first raced in Sept. 1956 after arriving from the factory (initial owner Ed Savin).

Looks like the Le Mans Classic got a little wet at times but that everyone had a grand time (AND avoided the type of incident which befell the Chris Cox GTO)!

   John.[;)]

Thank you for the Link, First picture I have of Ed Savins BEX169 in it's original White paint, those I have dating from 1956 onward are all after it was repaint in the familiar Blue.

   Cheers

   Keith..[:)]..[:)]

Here are the early racing pictures of BEX 169 but after it was changed from its original white. Posted on behalf of Keith.

By the way, on Tam Partland's great website there is still a request for more information on the history on BEX 316.

Any assistance is very welcome. Thanks!
