Oil fill level for AC Engine

The owners manual for the Ace engine says to fill the engine to the 'maximum level' mark on the dip stick. Is this just the location where the flattened lower part of the stick turns into the full round of the upper dip stick? I see no ther marks that would serve as a max level indicator.

Peter,

Glad you asked the question.  I've often wondered the same thing.

That is what I assumed and I have driven 1500 carefree miles with it like that after rebuilding the engine. The manual refers to needing at least 70 pounds of pressure at 2500RPM when the car is hot.
