Title: Trunk / Boot lid interior
Post by: jmohara on October 15, 2017, 13:50:07
OK I am coming to the end of my MKIV rebuild. When I got the car the trunk lid interior material was lying on the floor and the number plate light wire was dangling into the space. I'm trying to figure out what order these things go on.
Does the wire attach to the trunk lid and then the material covers it all?
Or does the material attach to the trunk lid and then the wire attaches on the outside?
   Any pictures would be great.
   Thanks
   M

John,

As best I recall the material covered the wire leaving a "gopher trail" in the felt. You may be able to see a "ghost" of how it routed where adhesive was blocked by the wire.

This makes total sense Mark IV. It looked like the felt had holes where it was logos went through it....I am on it!
