Title: Damper mountings
Post by: Norman on March 10, 2017, 16:41:03
I have Avo adjustable dampers on the back of my Ace, but they are supplied with poly bushes and I think rubber would suit the suspension characteristics better. I have bought some rubber bushes from Brian Eacott but they are too large: they only fit the original Armstrong dampers which have a larger diameter eye. Does anyone know a source of smaller rubber bushes?

I suggest you try Robush Ltd. They seem be able to supply every type of bush or rubber mounting known to man & they helpfully have no minimum order.

Thanks Luke. Fortunately, since writing the post I have learned that Avo have moved to rubber bushes, so I was able to buy them there. Got the car back on the road today and it feels like the best suspension compromise so far: ride not harsh, but so far no tendency to bottom. Adjustment, by the way, was full hard on the rebound and midway on the bound, as recommended by Avo.
