I have a set of kingpins and bushes that I recently acquired that I am assured are for the 2 litre saloon, however they are different from my last set of kingpins and bushed.
As can be seen from the pic of the kit all the bushed are the top hat style and come with a bronze washer and a felt washer. The kingpins are identical to those on the car.
The last set I had had 1 top hat bush and one straight tube type as current fitted to my car see pic. This stub axle also has a steel washer type thing (probably has a technical term) see pic
My questions are
A: is this the right kit
B: Can I fit this
C: If so does the top bush fit as per the bottom one i.e. top hat upside down position. does the felt washer and bronze washer then fit in place of the steel thingy (previously referred to)
D: or could I re use the steel thingy(that item again) and dispense with the bronze and felt washer
I have seen another kit like this on the interweb but that was for the 1933-38 AC however there was a further washer with that kit.
And finally (at last, you may say) since my little man who reamed my last bushes (cheers Frank) has passed away RIP. will any machine shop be able to ream them or does anyone have a recommendation.
Cheers in anticipation.
Stay safe and well all.

Many thanks for all the replies. :(
Anyway I have it sorted now, a nice chap who has a Lagonda and a 2 Litre saloon (but not a member as he thinks the club is too Ace/Cobra orientated, I tried to dissuade him, but maybe he's right). He has identified that this is not Saloon kit but from a earlier pre war AC, however the king pins are correct and the bushes can be fitted, but with the current metal seal thingy (no he did not what the technical name is either) instead of the felt seal and washer.
So all good here and onward with fitting the stub axles back on and the fully refurbed later twin leading shoes brakes.

Sorry I had nothing to offer. Glad you sorted it out. We’re not the most interactive group are we?

Hi ya David
No probs
Got there in the end, albeit, outside the club.
Still onward and upward.
Just got the refurbed 3/4 inch master cylinder back with stainless liner and new piston, so all the brakes will soon be upgraded, go to do something while the wings are away being repaired/resprayed.
Hope all good your end.

Please update us once brakes are done. I’ll copy info over to the Facebook page. Perhaps others will want to follow suit.

Probably a daft question but as not a facebook user, what facebook page?

I set up a Buckland appreciation page. About 50 members with connections to the cars. Good forum with people who respond! You might enjoy signing up just for that, link is here; https://www.facebook.com/groups/484529341714874/?ref=share
