My car 1234 doesnt have any sway bars ... my understanding was they were not a dealer option and they are aftermarket.

Mine also 1988 and the manual is still the carb version ... stuggled a bit with that when I was trying to locate the fuses for the electronic fuel pump issues I had.

... I would take and educated guess that they all were the earlier version because in late 94 they dropped the 5.0L V8 and started the 4.6 which matched up with the later t-5 which was an inch longer ?

Superarnie .... I'm in NY ... and shipped to the UK for personal and business ... it would be no problem to help out.

' 428 outside of cost is the thin walls cylinders which make reboring nearly impossible. .10 over is all you get....  The 428 dies at 4500 rpm. "   I don't mean to be confrontational ... but your generalizing and your statements are only partially true ... i only wish i was outside your shop when you were disposing of those 428 cj blocks bored .010 over.  I raced 428 for a few years and we would sonic test the walls and center bore them and get 0.60 out of a 428cj block.  We also install restrictors in the heads to increase oil flow to the lower end. We use zero end gap piston rings and Vandervell tri metal bearings. We did for years ran NHRA C class and the 428's would go to 7100 rpm ... but made peak HP at 5400 all day long.  Running 5W 30 synthetic Oil we would get 220 runs on those motors ... and we could go to the junk yard and get plenty of them compared to the high dollar 427's ... so I'm still not convinced the 427 is a superior motor .. maybe better ... but
i seen plenty of the rev up and piece flying everywhere.

" the 351 Windsor motor is a dog, it just won't spin ... If you want a good spinning 351 it has to be a Cleveland,"
Sorry to say you have that backwards ... I have 2 Pantera's with 351C and unless you do major mods, they have oiling issues ... the 351W is the basis for High Perf Block in 1969 with superior strength to the "C" block. The "W" has been the basis for the NASCAR blocks for years and superior to the "C" block.  The 9.5 W block can be stroked to a 427 and with the new "C" based heads ... I have  one dyno'd to 713hp.  The weight savings over an FE in a cobra in these modern times = Horse Power at the rear wheels

As per my prior post from back in 2011 ... the pump was the problem it was seized from the gas.  I replaced the pump with an direct replacement which took a significant amount of time and research for the replacement.  My pump was on the driver side and the factory did a great job with the mounting ... only i replaced all the old hose with new steel braided.

If memory serves me correctly isn't there a inline fuse or a circuit breaker up in front on the passenger side foot box where the fuse box is for the fuel pump ?  I replaced the pump a while ago.

I'm pretty sure ... Small Block Ford's oil pump has a relief valve / spring .. which at high rpm the pump relieves it self so you dont over pressure the system.

428 Frua Forum / Exhaust manifold

Cliffordl ,

if you dont mind .. post a few pictures on the manifold ... next depending on where the crack is cast iron can be mig welded with stainless steel wire with Co2, argon / helium mix ... and preheat and slow cool. ... and as I  said depending on where the crack is ... we sometimes drill the ends so the heat dont extend the crack ... it also is a slow process as not to over heat.

Is this manifold for an FE Ford Motor

.... all are good suggestions ... my experience with a vibration of my car was lack of grease.  I found the rear bearings, fron bearings and all the u joints had a minor amount of grease ... basically nothing was greased from the factory when assembled.

   My 2 cents.

... If memory serves me correctly when I was searching for my fuel pump ... the tank has a baffle or two and as westcott mentioned you might be hooked on the sendor.  If you take the cover behind the seat out there is access to the sendor ... once removed you can see in the tank.

AK1131 ... I feel your frustration ... I also have had similar experience at a few shows, and going thru the whole Its Not Replica explanation like a broken record get old real fast.   My thought would be a simple sign or placard with the History of the AC MKIV posted on or in front of the car might save my voice and frustration.   The problem is and maybe some of the experts could help put together a Paragraph which we could post of the exact history and makings of the MKIV of which we would be technically correct .... any help would be greatly appreciated.
