Louis.

Thanks for Posting latest listing of  Le Mans Classic Competitors,  On quickly scanning through I did Spy a couple of other ACOC members who are competing. Not in their AC's , but in other Marques.... e.g.

Constant Wagner is racing his Lotus X1 ( better Luck this time,  punted out in first lap of Practice in 2010)
Shaun Lynn is out in his Ford GT40 and  Ferrari 512.
   to name but two members.

Dare say some of our Cobra Boys will be exploiting the full potential of their Cobras during 2012 at one or two of the special 50th Anniversary  Cobra races/events planned for 2012,  e.g GoodWood Revival and Pebble Beach.....[:p]

Looks like a Good Year for   AC ACtivity !!

   In the Meantime:-

Merry Christmas
   and a
   Happy, Healthy & Prosperous 2012

   Cheers

   Keith ..[:)]..[:)]

Georges Gachnang will drive his Cooper Monaco at LMC 2012...fifty two years after racing at Le Mans 24 Hours with BEX 289.

I was wandering whether the Alborough/Richardson Ace in grid 2 is correctly listed: AC Ace Bristol 1954 ?
The Bristol engine was not introduced until early 1956.
   What is the clue here?

Constant,

VPL 442 (#FS50) did not start her life in 1954 with a Bristol engine but was first Ace to be fitted with Bristol engine in 1956.
Seen at Le Mans 1957 as a kind of "T car"...

   Historic car isn't she !

Two books to have on your bookshelves:
   - Ace Bristol Racing by Tony Bancroft.
   - AC Six-Cylinder Sports Cars by Rinsey Mills.

My understanding is that VPL442 started life fitted with AC's experimental Flat-4 engine.

At what day & time is the AC dinner at Arnage? Time permitting between practice laps, I might pass by for a drink (of water).
