428's at Wings & Wheels?
« on: August 22, 2007, 22:03:47 »
Any 428's going to W & W this Sunday?

If the rain holds off I'll be there. If it doesn't I may be there but without a 428 (which amongst it's woes has a leaking hood)

This one set me thinking because in the Sixties I used to have a Mk 2 Sprite which let in water nearly every time it rained, and as I'd always fancied the fibreglass Ashley hardtop conversion I eventually bought one which solved the problem immediately. However I realised after reading your post that it also made the Sprite into a fastback as well, the same as in the pic. below.

I don't know if the 428's ever came with a hard top option or not but it might be worth investigating sometime knowing our usual weather ? [:)]

My problem is that the hood is somewhat perished. However I would rather replace it after dealing with the bodywork[V]

Sorry what I also meant was as an additional interesting and cool "instant 428 fastback" option for owners of convertibles anyway. [8D]
