Title: Heat shield for Webers on 2.6 Ford
Post by: Norman on March 24, 2018, 17:21:09
I've noticed that the engine on RSX5006 runs roughly when started from hot, presumably because when the car is stationary the carbs are upset by heat sink from the exhaust below. I looked at RS5033 at the Goodwood Members meeting last weekend and noticed that it had a heat shield under the carbs (if a lip were added, also very useful for stopping overflowing fuel reaching the exhaust if a float sticks). Does anyone have a pattern for this, or do I start from scratch? Also, as my car is LHD, I need to arrange some kind of quick-release for my throttle cable, as it will have to run through the shield.
