   While I may not be a dues paying member,the expulsion of Mr. Legate strikes me as short sighted. Trevor has done more for "AC" and even the dreaded "Dear Chairman" than anyone in recent history. Not that anyone gives a ****e, but I too must withdraw in support for Trevor.

The loss of Trevor Legate and his extensive Cobra knowledge is a very sad day for the AC marque. He more than anyone knows what has transpired in the murky past of our favourite marque. I have today copied a letter to the Chairman asking why this has happened and will post a response once I receive one.

   I was surprised to see a comment of Trevor under an "n/a" nickname saying: "I'm outta here", but didn't know how to interpret this. Very bad indeed for keeping AC history alive if we (the ACOC) loose someone like him.

Folks, don´t forget: This is our hobby!. Taking our hobby to serious might lead to the opposite effect for what it is supposed to: To have fun and to enjoy our enthusiasm.
   
   The problem with modern computer communication is, that the short messages may easy be misinterpreted. Hope somebody picks up a phone and I´m sure it all will turn out as that, what I described: misunderstanding!

In addition to the posts I have read, I have corresponded with both Trevor and Bryan and I am hoping by now the matter will be resolved to all parties satisfaction. But one thing does remain, the last post stated it most correctly, this is our hobby and we all often forget that. The great difficulty is what is currently happening to the brand we all love, in some peoples eyes it is a travisty while in others it as just progress as the marque evolves. Each person has his or her own view on the matter and as long as we do not get personal in our posts we should all be able to carry on commenting.

Maybe so but that is not a proper car manufacturer facility owned and operated by AC. It is a specialist repairer/builder which amongst other classic brands specialises in AC and would appear to have some commercial association with the brand owner. The great shame is that when the Malta factory existed there was tremendous potential with over 40,000 sq feet.  Properly financed and run the aluminium bodied cars could have been built there too.

   Certainly the chassis plate is legal. That´s why in my opinion if you want an AC - that´s where you have to go to. These cars come from Brooklands and are made on original tools. And there is a direkt link to Autokraft. When my Mk IV was repainted two years ago at Steve Gray´s workshop, the paintjob was done by the same painter who did the job in 1984. That´s what I call "continuation"!
   
   When the Mk IV was announced, I thought: "Well, a small series production will help the brand to survive".
   
   Now my mind has changed. I fear what we will have in the future are just licensed AC labels on various Cobra derivates. As a Cobra enthusiast it drives tears into my eyes. Seems all what is left are kind of licensed AC labels and of course Carroll Shelby´s licensed chassis plates on various cars with origins in South Africa, Poland (?) and whereever ...
   
   Well I´ll take it as it is and will continue to play with my toy!
