Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / AEX 1012 coming up for sale
« on: July 22, 2014, 19:06:16 »
A '58 (registered '59) would be expected to have front discs and indeed the blurb so claims.
   But does it?

I'm glad you posted this in the wrong forum :) or I might have missed it.
I have been a fan of Wright and AC's for fifty years or more and never knew of a connection.
Great write up and a beautiful car!

There is an extremely lively discussion going on at Bring a Trailer about this car.
It is quite easy to sign up and join in.
I think this car has some history on this Forum and there must be much more to be said.
   Use French Frie's link.

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Missing Website
« on: February 12, 2014, 00:33:47 »
Keith:  I sent you some pics of my Ace several years ago.  I have no problem that they were posted on that website.  It made for a good record of the car.
I came across some other photos of the car when last I saw it: almost totally destroyed by fire.
Since it has been brought back to life, including the number plate, I thought those pics should be a part of the record.

Find these offerings here, "222" first.  That will be an impressive price for 211, if it happens.

I thought I would like its looks better.
No emblem, strange bumpers and something not quite right with the grill.

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / BEX 366 discovered

The photo of the exterior shows an AC in apparently better condition than the details.
This car must have been ignored in somewhat rough conditions for years at a time.
It will be nice to see it refurbished.

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / BEX 763 1959 Aceca For Sale EBay

The bidding frenzy I expected didn't happen and somebody got a great deal at $120,100.
This is really kind of disappointing for our marque.

I wish there had been more comments here on this neat AC.
It will be interesting to see if the strange final bidding fiasco so common on eBay takes place here.
The result can go up by a factor of 3 or 4 in the final 20 seconds!

A beautiful car in oh-so desireable condition.
Now at 70 grand, should be 3 times that IMHO.
I would love to just sit in it.

I haven't read that article for 30 + years.  Thanks.  It was hard to tell Stu from some guy who wandered in from the crowd in the pits.

Here AEX 456 looks like it was modified to increase durability, perhaps at the expense of curb weight:

This is an exciting and beautiful part of Ace history.
We had another early example and both seem surprisingly small.

DirecTV doesn't make the Velocity channel available without High Definition equipment.
So if anyone finds a DVD or regular TV replay, I would like to see it.
Some of the interesting changes this car has gone through are at:

In getting ready to watch the show next week, I found that Velocity on DirecTV 281 is a high definition station and not available.
