The Velocity cable channel (Discovery network) has a show called Chasing Classic Cars here in the U.S. Not sure if our European friends get this show or not. The next episode on January 22nd is about a 1955 AC Ace. The description of the episode is as follows:
When Wayne sells a rare 1955 AC ACE racecar on behalf of a client. It turns out that the car was purchased by the son of Joe Bojalad, a racer and the car's original owner. With Joe's 78th birthday fast approaching, Wayne tries to reunite man and car.
The show's host is Wayne Carini of F40 Motorsports in Connecticut. It is a great show and this particular episode sounds like a very interesting one if those on this site are able to view it over on your side of the world!

Thanks, I'll look forward to it. It may be at 10 PM and DirectV Channel 281.

In the UK, we get Chasing Classic Cars on the Discovery network, Click Here (http://"http://www.tvguide.co.uk/titlesearch.asp?title=Chasing+Classic+Cars&"); Only AC mentioned at the moment is a Cobra.
I have seen one episode with what they keep describing as an "AC Bristol", no mention of "Ace"!
Plenty of Cobras have appeared too. It`s a fun show.

Here is the link to Velocity and the program schedule for Chasing Classic Cars. The
1/22/13 episode next week will be about the Ace. I saw the preview when watching this week's show and it looks like a great episode and the Ace "star car" looks nice indeed!

I saw Wayne Carini in Monterey a couple of years ago outside of the Russo and Steele auction checking out a car. He seems pretty nice. Love the show and some of the cars he uncovers. What fun!

In getting ready to watch the show next week, I found that Velocity on DirecTV 281 is a high definition station and not available.

I actually bought a car from Wayne.
The car and transaction were featured in one of his episodes - Fiat Multipla. Hilariously fun little car.
Actually looking to sell it in the spring.
Great show for all vintage car lovers.
Cheers,
Rob

I recollect the car and the episode. Cool little machine! Where are you located in CA? I'm in the Bay Area. Would be nice to get a group of AC owners together if there are some locally.

I emailed Wayne Carini to see if he had interest in featuring the AC's in the International in his show. No answer...yet.

I am in the Bay Area too. Hillsborough.
There are currently 5 ACECA's in the greater Bay Area that I know of. Some not running yet I believe. There are a few Ace's as well.
I would definitely love to get a drive up to Alice's going in the spring.
Cheers,
Rob

Do you want me to give him a call?

I Love the show, Wayne finds incredible cars and this is the second time he has had an AC on the program.
-
Second time for an Ace, but there have been several Cobras.
Yet to see this episode, but I record them whenever I spot anything AC-related!
-

Hi Rob. I'm in San Ramon, so not too far away. It would be fun to get a group of AC owners together here in the area and perhaps have some get togethers this year. That would be a lot of fun. A run to Alice's sounds great to me. I will send you my contact information and let's stay in touch. I'm looking forward to giving my Mk. IV some more exercise!

Hey Guys,
I just watched the episode. That was high class. What a great story. I loved the old man. What a fantastic experience that must have been.
By all mean, Rob, if you can give him a ring, give him a heads up on what the plan is.
Thanks.
Looking forward to seeing all of you this summer.

I just saw the episode as well. It was very heart warming and probably one of the best episodes I have seen. The Ace was restored to its original dark red color for the original owner of the car who raced it in 1955. The man's son bought the car back for his dad and had Wayne do some restoration work (paint, etc.) and presented the car to his dad on his birthday at the location of the first road race he won at Put-in-Bay Ohio. The car is RHD and the show mentions chassis number AE 46. During the restoration Wayne was having trouble finding out the original color, which he probably could have found out if he was familiar with this forum and its resident experts! Noticed a BRG 427 Cobra in Wayne's shop during the resto process, with sunburst wheels. The show is a must see for Ace lovers. The whole show was about this car and the efforts to get it ready to present to Joe Bojalad. Just a terrific show.

DirecTV doesn't make the Velocity channel available without High Definition equipment.
So if anyone finds a DVD or regular TV replay, I would like to see it.
Some of the interesting changes this car has gone through are at:
