AKL 1333:
Hello again to all interested club members
unforgently i have to make a short anouncement that the frontal rhine view with balcony rooms are all sold out. All other room types are still available
At the moment there must be booked in club members who have booked in, in one or both hotels in the rooms which are reserved for the international 2020 and have not written an email (wahn@netcologne.de) to us. It is absolut nessersary to have the names of driver and codriver, car type, regnr. of the car and a mobile phone number and if you have booked in one or both Hotels, to make a concret planning for the meeting. So please give us this informations via email as fast as possible.
Thank you in advance and looking forward to see you in  Bonn (Cologne)

MkIV Lux:
Hello,
If you intend to join in on Day 0 and book the Mariott in Cologne (night of 4th of August 2020), please proceed as follows, to avoid unnecessary frustrations in the booking process (Mariott is a global operator and you risk to be sent around the world to Service Center operators who do not understand what you want to book for):

- call Mariott at Cologne +49221942220
- select your language option
- select option 3 (=> this brings you to the local operator)
- insist to be connected to the inhouse local reservation team; only they know about this arrangement and are currently in position to take your reservation;
- ask for reservation team in house for booking a room for the 4th of August 2020,  under reference ACOC 2020).
- give them your personal data including e-mail address, for them then to send you a reservation form.

In case you are nevertheless unsuccessful to get what you want, simply send your request by email to Ursula at wahn@netcologne.de and she will be making the reservation for you. You should then be contacted by the Mariott with their reservation form to be filled.

Hope this is of help.
Constant, Ursula & Jürgen

AKL 1333:
Nürburgring for the friday tour confirmed,
yesterday we have got the confirmation from the organisers of the Oldtimer Grand Prix (biggest classic racing event in Germany)  that the AC Owners Club will be a part of this wondeful event again (remember Luxembourg 2015)
central parking at the old drivers camp
lunch in the drivers tent
possibility to watch the training sessions on friday
(at the moment it is open if the club has 15 exclusive minutes at the Grand Prix Course... we do our best)

Looking forward to see you in Germany 2020
Jürgen, Ursula and Constant

 :)
Excellent news, Jürgen. Oldtimer GP is always an exciting venue! If on top we would be allowed to take a few laps on the GP course, that would be “the cherry on top of the cream” as we use to say at this end. Well done!
And thanks for having secured underground parking at Dreesen’s, just a couple of miles downriver from the remains of the WW2 famous Remagen bridge. The guided tour over the roof of Cologne’s cathedral on the evening of day 0 also looks very promising to start with some safe unusual excitement.

By now there are 23 cars registered for the ACOC International 2020 (half of which have also booked day 0), and although we still have some 8 months to go, it is difficult to plan offsite restaurants, visits and bus transfers before we know how many +/- people will ultimately be amongst our party. Hence a call to all those of you eager to join into the event to book as soon as possible.
Depending on the number of participants, the total cost besides hotels and private expenses will be within the limit of 550 €/person (plus 40 €/person for day 0). To avoid unnecessary hassle with exchange rate fluctuations between £ and € over the next months, and complicated accounting, please do not use the ACOC treasurer as intermediary but make payments in € directly as stated hereafter.

Early booking greatly helps the small organization team to get things going and to guarantee an exciting and stress-free event.

Your booking in 3 steps:
-   hotel reservation at Rheinhotel Dreesen (and eventually the Mariott for day 0 in Cologne) – see earlier posts by AKL 1333
-   email to Jürgen and Ursula at wahn@netcologne.de confirming that you have secured your hotel booking
-   payment of an advance of 400 €/person (800 €/couple) to the bank account opened by Jürgen specifically for the event; if you book also day 0, please add 40 €/person (80 €/couple)

When I transferred deposit  through HSBC UK Bank I had to confirm your first line of home address and City,  Not sure if this is just HSBC UK Bank  or
Standard procedure for all UK Banks.  Thought I should pass on message  to save wasting time,    Have all details to hand when carrying  out transaction.
