I have just received and fitted a new Mota-Lita steering wheel to my Mark IV and I wanted to share my pleasure!
The wheel is the original wood rimmed pattern produced for the Mk2 cars but was custom made so as to bolt directly onto the RS Escort boss (fitted to the MkIV Cobra).  Wooden wheels aren't for everyone but I have to say, the new wheel looks and feels great and the people at Mota-Lita couldn't have been more helpful or enthusiastic!

Dear Two Greens,

I also have a MKIV and have been think about a Moto-Lita wheel. What year is your car? Could you please email me a photo of the wheel? My direct email is fmyachtshhi@aol.com

In addition, I have seen a couple of MKIV with a very nice wood shift knob with the AC Logo. Any chance you know of a source? There are a bounce of knobs the the Cobra logo but I want AC.

   Thank you,
   Fred Mix

AK1131,
I'll try to take some pictures this weekend (I have promised to send some to the guys at Mota-Lita as well). Sorry, I don't know any sources for the AC gear knob.

My car is a 1993 build.

   Kind Regards
   Rick

Hi Fred,

I send you a pic of the Moto Lita wheel on my 1993 MkIV. It was AC factory fitted.

   Regards

Fred,
Mine is 13 inches (the steering wheel!).

Thinking about your AC knob quest, you could try Europa Spares or Hawk Cars here in the UK.

   Regards

For an alternative to a wood-rim Motolita wheel, I have a wood-rim Nardi italian wheel on my CRS. The quality of the wood and aluminim spokes [3] are superb. It was a direct replacememt for the Momo wheel the car was originally fitted with.

Fred,
I had a second look: the wheel on my MkIV is a Nardy, not Mota Lita.
   Sorry

For some reason AC turned to Nardi for the wooden wheels offered on the Mark IV where as they used Mota Lita for the wheels fitted to the Mark 2 and the 427.  Not quite sure why they made the change since the leather wheels fitted as standard on the Mark IV were, again, Mota Lita.

I personally prefer the Mota Lita styling over that of the Nardi but, as ever, it is all down to personal taste.

Fred, you should have received some photos by email.

   Regards to All
