Another cry for help !!!!
   
   We are about to abricate a stainless steel system for the car modelled on the very rusted pipes that came with the car but have a question.
   
   The existing tail pipes circa 2 and a half feet long look like a megaphones going from about an inch and a half to two and a half inches at the outlet, is this correct ???
   
   If not some dimensions and a photograph would help

I made a completely new exhaust and used 2-1/2" pipes all the way to the end. This is a huge engine and it needs to pass a lot of air. The wimpy original Pick-up truck manifolds and 1-3/4" pipe are totally inadequate. Also, we made a cross over pipe to equalize the 2 sides. The whole exhaust can be unbolted and removed if needs be! Also the whole thing was ceramic coated afterwards. If you choose to go the big 2-1/2" path, make sure you include flexible joints in the middle or you will get vibrations! You are right, both pipes stick-out straight back at the rear.

My pipes are following the shape of the rear wheel arch, is this original ?
   As I figure that this is not optimal for engine performance, is another  design recommended/possible ?

   Yes, the pipes go straight down along the chassis and into the rear wheel wells. The bend is not sharp and should not affect engine performance. There are indentations made in the chassis to accommodate the pipes.

Thanks Emmanuel, we further have some trouble to fit the new outlet manifolds in the engine compartment.  Could you tell what kind of adjustment you had to do to fit them in or show it via a picture ?
